Cane dressers, hand-woven in Jodhpur — wholesale for importers, retailers and hospitality.
Wide bedroom dressers with hand-woven natural cane drawer fronts on kiln-dried solid-wood carcasses — sheesham, mango or acacia. The warm, breathable boho-and-resort look buyers ask for, built with dovetailed drawers, full compliance paperwork and the container-readiness a serious import programme needs.
Why the cane dresser keeps selling — and why the build matters.
The woven-cane dresser has become one of the most repeatable bedroom lines a buyer can carry: it crosses coastal, boho, Scandinavian and modern-organic ranges, photographs beautifully, and commands a premium over a plain drawer front. The look is only as good as the construction behind it, and that is where most cheap cane furniture fails — the weave is asked to do a structural job it was never meant to do.
We build the other way around. The load is carried by a kiln-dried solid-wood carcass and dovetailed or doweled drawer boxes; the hand-woven cane is set into a framed, rebated drawer front purely as the face. The result ships as a genuine solid-wood piece with a woven front — not a laminate look-alike — and holds up to daily opening, folding and reloading in homes, rentals and hotels alike.
Natural cane on a solid-wood spine.
Each part is specified for its job — the wood for strength and legality, the cane for face and breathability, the finish for the destination market.
The carcass & drawers
Kiln-dried sheesham, mango or acacia — dovetailed or doweled drawer boxes on smooth wooden or metal runners, a squared and conditioned carcass that survives sea freight and varied destination climates.
The cane front
Hand-woven natural cane — open hexagonal "French cane" or a closed weave — peeled from the rattan palm and set into a framed, rebated front. Double-woven or panel-backed on high-wear and contract pieces.
The finish & hardware
Natural, honey, walnut, whitewash, black or two-tone, in CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant lacquer or oil. Handles in brass, rattan-wrapped, turned-wood or your supplied spec.

Cane dressers that clear customs.
A cane dresser is a timber case-good at heart, so it sits squarely inside timber-legality enforcement. We build ours to pass it — FSC chain-of-custody, Vriksh-verified and CITES-compliant sheesham, geolocated and deforestation-free for the EU Deforestation Regulation, with Lacey Act, UKTR and CARB / TSCA covered and SEDEX / SMETA social audit behind the factory. Certificate numbers are shared directly with serious buyers on request, never published.
| Requirement | Our standard |
|---|---|
| Timber legality | Vriksh verified · CITES-compliant sheesham |
| Sustainability | FSC chain-of-custody · reclaimed lines |
| EU market | EUDR-ready · geolocation · UKTR |
| US market | Lacey Act support · CARB / TSCA finishes |
| Social audit | SEDEX / SMETA · ISO · SGS inspection |
| Export packing | ISPM-15 heat-treated · flat-pack options |

Natural cane is breathable and lightly flexible, which is part of its appeal; it stays taut and handsome with simple care. For your care cards and product pages: dust the weave with a soft dry brush or cloth, wipe spills promptly, and keep the piece out of direct heat and strong, prolonged sun to prevent the fibre drying or fading. Feed the solid-wood surfaces occasionally with a furniture oil or wax suited to the finish. Lift rather than drag when moving, and avoid harsh solvents on the cane. A cane dresser is best used indoors or in fully covered, shaded settings; for open-air or poolside projects we build the same design in weather-resistant synthetic (PE) weave on protected frames.
What buyers ask before they order.
What is a cane dresser made of?
A cane dresser is a wide, horizontal bedroom dresser built around a kiln-dried solid-wood carcass — sheesham (Indian rosewood), mango or acacia — with hand-woven natural cane set into the drawer fronts and, where the design calls for it, the side panels. Cane is the glossy outer skin peeled from the rattan palm; it gives the fronts their airy, textured face while the solid-wood carcass, dovetailed drawer boxes and runners carry every load. Every dresser carries at least one solid-wood component; we do not supply plywood-only or panel dressers.
Is a cane-front dresser strong enough for daily bedroom and hotel use?
Yes, because the wood does the structural work. The cane sits in a framed, usually rebated drawer front, so folded clothing bears on the solid-wood drawer box and carcass, not the weave. For contract and hotel use we reinforce the fronts, back the cane panel where needed, double-weave high-wear areas and finish with a hard-wearing CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant lacquer. Every dresser is QC-checked for drawer glide, front integrity and carcass squareness before packing.
Can you make cane dressers to our own design or private label?
Yes. We work as both ODM — supplying our own catalogue of woven designs — and OEM, manufacturing to your drawings, drawer count, dimensions, weave pattern, finish and hardware. Custom CNC-cut carcasses, bespoke weave densities, your branding and retail-ready, Amazon-FBA-ready or gift packaging are all available. Send a reference image or tech pack and we prototype to it before any production run.
Do cane dressers ship flat-pack to lower freight?
Many designs ship knock-down / flat-pack (RTA) with bolt-on tops, feet or back panels, which protects the woven fronts and raises container density — ideal for large importers and online sellers. Assembled and part-assembled options are available where you prefer them, and every solid-wood carcass uses ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing.
What is the minimum order and lead time for wholesale cane dressers?
A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container) so you approve wood, weave and drawer action first. For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and we consolidate cane dressers with nightstands, beds, chests and décor into one mixed container. Typical lead time is 30–45 days after sample approval; urgent orders are possible at a premium.
Are cane dressers import-compliant for the US and EU?
Yes. Our solid-wood carcasses ship with FSC chain-of-custody, Vriksh timber-legality and CITES-compliant handling of sheesham, backed by ISO, SGS inspection and SEDEX / SMETA social audit. We are EUDR-ready with geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence, and we support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation, CARB / TSCA finishes and ISPM-15 export packing. Certificate numbers are shared directly with serious buyers on request.
Send a reference or your own drawing — we quote FOB/CIF with MOQ and lead time.
