Legal & sustainable by default

Every wood we ship is documented, verifiable and buyer-ready.

The wood is only half the story — the paperwork is what clears your container. Because sheesham is a Dalbergia species, we handle it under CITES norms and Vriksh timber-legality verification, carry FSC chain-of-custody, and build every shipment around EUDR geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence. Lacey Act, UK Timber Regulation, CARB / TSCA finishes and ISPM-15 packing are all covered.

Solid wood types & materials — FAQ

What are the main types of solid wood furniture?

The most common solid woods for export furniture are sheesham (Indian rosewood / Dalbergia sissoo), mango, acacia, teak and reclaimed or old wood, with rosewood, rubberwood and pine used for specific ranges. Each has a distinct grain, weight, hardness and colour. We also combine any of these with wrought iron, marble, stone, leather, cane, brass or bone inlay.

Which solid wood is best for export furniture?

There is no single best wood — it depends on your market and price point. Sheesham offers the richest grain and hardness and is the signature Jodhpur wood; mango is lighter and cost-advantaged with a warm grain; acacia is very hard and water-tolerant; teak is premium and outdoor-stable; reclaimed wood suits rustic and sustainability-led ranges. We help you match wood to your channel and budget.

Is sheesham the same as rosewood?

Sheesham is Indian rosewood, botanically Dalbergia sissoo. It is a true dense hardwood with a deep, varied grain. Because it is a Dalbergia species, we handle it under CITES-compliant and Vriksh-verified timber legality, with FSC chain-of-custody and EUDR-ready due diligence, so it clears customs cleanly into the EU, UK and US.

Can you combine wood with metal, marble or other materials?

Yes. Our material rule is simple — any piece with at least one solid-wood component. That means solid wood with wrought iron, marble or stone tops, leather and upholstery, cane and rattan, bone inlay, mother-of-pearl, brass, jute, terrazzo, resin or glass. Single-source consolidation of wood, metalware and marble into one compliant container is one of our core strengths.

Do you supply FSC-certified and legally sourced timber?

Yes. We document FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh timber-legality verification, handle sheesham to CITES norms, and are EUDR-ready with geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence. We also support US Lacey Act declarations and UK Timber Regulation. Certificate details are shared directly with serious buyers on request.

Are your wood finishes compliant for the US and EU?

Yes. Our finishes are formaldehyde-compliant to CARB and TSCA Title VI norms, and export packaging is ISPM-15 heat-treated. Combined with FSC, Vriksh and EUDR-ready documentation, this makes import into the US, UK and EU a non-event.
