Flat-pack & knockdown furniture, engineered to load more and break less.

We manufacture solid-wood furniture in knockdown (KD), flat-pack and ready-to-assemble (RTA) form — designed around container density, lower freight per unit and near-zero in-transit damage. The format large importers and online sellers ask for, built to a compliant, repeatable standard.

Knockdown solid-wood furniture packed flat into export cartons in Jodhpur, India
Why buyers specify knockdown

Flat-pack turns cubic metres into margin.

Assembled solid-wood furniture is heavy on air freight — you pay to ship the empty space inside a sideboard. Knockdown construction ships the same piece as flat, nested panels, so a single container carries far more sellable units, your landed cost per unit falls, and fragile joints no longer rub to pieces at sea.

More units per container

Panels, legs and frames pack flat and nest tight, so a 20ft or 40ft load holds many more pieces than assembled goods — the single biggest lever on your per-unit freight cost.

Less breakage in transit

No pre-assembled joints to work loose over weeks at sea. Flat components are corner-protected and tightly packed, so claims, returns and replacements drop.

Channel-ready on arrival

Cartons built for your route — Amazon-FBA-ready, retail-ready or branded — with hardware packs and illustrated instructions so stock moves straight to the shelf or the customer.

What we build in knockdown

Solid-wood pieces, engineered to come apart cleanly — and go back together fast.

Any piece with at least one solid-wood component can be re-engineered for flat-pack. We work across sheesham, mango, acacia, teak, reclaimed wood, rosewood, rubberwood and pine, combined with wrought iron, marble, cane, leather or brass. We do not position as a plywood or panel supplier — our KD range keeps the solid-wood character buyers pay for.

Dining & living

Dining tables, sideboards, coffee and console tables, TV units, shelving and bookcases with removable legs, bolt-on tops and knock-down carcasses.

Bedroom & storage

Bed frames, nightstands, chests, wardrobes and benches that panel down for shipping and reassemble with a cam-lock and dowel system.

Wood & iron

Industrial-style desks, racks, trolleys and dining bases where a solid-wood top bolts to a flat-packed wrought-iron frame.

Knockdown is a logistics decision as much as a design one. Here is how a KD programme runs with us, from a first trial carton to repeat container volumes, with the compliance paperwork handled per shipment so your container clears customs instead of sitting at the port.

How a knockdown order runs

From enquiry to a flat-loaded container in five steps.

01

Share the brief

Send your catalogue, drawings or a reference piece. We advise where knockdown engineering will cut your freight and quote FOB/CIF with MOQ and lead time.

02

Prototype & sample

We prototype the KD design and ship a sample (LCL) so you approve the wood, finish, fit and assembly before any production run.

03

Produce & QC

Your order is made and QC-checked over 30–45 days, with full compliance documentation prepared per shipment.

04

Pack flat & brand

Components are nested into ISPM-15 cartons with hardware packs, instructions and your FBA-ready, retail-ready or branded print.

05

Load & ship

The container is loaded for maximum density and shipped from Mundra or Nhava Sheva on your Incoterms.

Packaging & assembly

The hardware pack is part of the product.

A flat-pack only earns its freight saving if it reassembles cleanly at the other end. Every knockdown item ships with the fittings its design needs — cam-locks, dowels, bolts, threaded inserts or brackets — pre-sorted into a labelled hardware pack, with illustrated step-by-step instructions. We print your branding, SKU, barcodes and multilingual steps, and build the carton for your channel so it arrives shelf-ready or ready to forward to the end customer.

Who buys it

Built for high-volume channels.

Large importers and distributors loading full containers, online sellers on Wayfair, Amazon and Etsy who need FBA-ready cartons, and private-label brands who want the format spec'd into their own range. If you sell solid-wood furniture at volume, knockdown is usually the right call.

Compliant by design

Flat-pack still has to clear customs. Ours is documented to.

Knockdown changes the packing, not the paperwork. Every shipment carries FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh timber-legality on the sheesham, CITES-compliant handling, EUDR-ready geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence, US Lacey Act declaration support, UK Timber Regulation and CARB / TSCA-compliant finishes — with ISPM-15 heat-treated cartons and SEDEX/SMETA social audit behind the factory. Certificate numbers are shared directly with serious buyers on request.

Flat-pack furniture — questions buyers ask

Knockdown & RTA export, answered.

What is the minimum order for flat-pack furniture?

A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container) so you can test the product and assembly first. For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load (FCL) is our standard minimum. Because knockdown pieces pack flat, a container holds far more units than assembled goods — we also consolidate mixed categories into a single compliant container.

How much freight do you save with knockdown versus assembled furniture?

Flat-pack furniture is designed so panels, legs and frames ship as dense, nested cartons instead of bulky assembled volumes. That means many more sellable units per 20ft or 40ft container, a lower per-unit freight cost, and dramatically less in-transit breakage. Exact gains depend on the item, but the saving is why large importers and online sellers specify KD.

Do flat-pack items come with fittings and assembly instructions?

Yes. Each knockdown item ships with its hardware pack — cam-locks, dowels, bolts, threaded inserts or brackets as the design requires — plus clear, illustrated assembly instructions. We can print your branding, SKU, barcodes and multilingual steps, and build Amazon-FBA-ready or retail-ready cartons so items go straight to your channel.

What are your lead times and shipping terms for KD furniture?

Typical lead time is 30–45 days from approved sample and purchase order; urgent orders can be accommodated at a premium. We quote FOB or CIF (Incoterms) and ship from Mundra or Nhava Sheva. We hold no overseas warehouse — flat-pack maximises container density so you land stock efficiently in your own market.

Can you make knockdown furniture to our own designs and private label?

Yes. We are both ODM (ready knockdown designs from our catalogue) and OEM — we engineer your drawings into a sound flat-pack with custom CNC carving, your chosen solid wood and finish, private-label branding and custom packaging. We prototype and sample before any production run so fit, finish and assembly are proven first.

Which woods and materials do you use for flat-pack furniture?

We build on a solid-wood heart — sheesham (Indian rosewood), mango, acacia, teak, reclaimed wood, rosewood, rubberwood and pine — combined with wrought iron, marble/stone, cane, leather or brass. Any piece with at least one solid-wood component can be engineered for knockdown; we do not position as a plywood or panel supplier.
