Cane TV units, hand-woven in Jodhpur — wholesale media consoles for importers, retailers and hotels.
Low media consoles with hand-woven natural cane doors on kiln-dried solid-wood carcasses — sheesham, mango or acacia. The warm, breathable boho-and-resort look buyers ask for, with a weave that vents equipment heat and passes remote signals, built on real shelves, honest joinery, compliance paperwork and the container-readiness a serious import programme needs.
Woven cane for the long front. A solid-wood carcass for the screen.
A TV unit is the anchor of a living room — a low, wide console that carries the television, hides the set-top box, console and soundbar, and runs the full span of the media wall. So on a cane TV unit the cane is the face, not the frame. We set hand-woven cane — the thin, glossy outer skin peeled from the rattan palm — into framed cabinet doors and, where the design calls for it, the end panels. Behind that woven front sits a kiln-dried solid-wood carcass of sheesham, mango or acacia, with a solid-wood top, adjustable shelves, open equipment bays, drawer boxes and legs. The timber carries the weight of the screen and kit; the cane gives the long, low front its airy, light-filtering texture — and, because the weave is open, it lets equipment heat vent and lets a remote reach a device behind a closed door. The result reads as genuine craft on a retail floor and survives real living-room and contract use — not a particleboard shell wrapped in a cane-print veneer.
The media console that lightens a long wall — and hides the clutter.
On-trend, broad appeal
Woven cane fronts anchor the boho, coastal, Scandi-natural, planter's-colonial and resort schemes dominating living and hospitality buying. The same low silhouette serves a family living room, a lounge, a studio apartment and a hotel suite — a high-value, high-margin piece that earns its container space and reorders with the trend.
Vents heat, passes signals
A sealed media cabinet traps the heat from a set-top box or amplifier and blocks the remote. The open cane weave does the opposite — equipment runs cooler and infra-red control reaches devices behind closed doors — so cane earns its place on a TV unit for a practical reason, not just a stylistic one.
Honest, sellable craft
Hand-woven doors on a solid-wood carcass carry the sustainability and heritage story your customers pay for — a credible, deforestation-free alternative to mass-market foil-wrapped particleboard consoles, with the compliance paperwork to back the claim.
One material, many media-console silhouettes.

Retail & online
Knock-down cane TV units with bolt-on legs and tops raise container density, cut freight on a bulky low console and protect the woven doors in transit — ideal for retailers and marketplace sellers. We pack retail-ready and Amazon-FBA-ready, under your brand, with ODM catalogue designs or your own via OEM, and can match a media console to a coffee table, sideboard and seating for a merchandised living-room collection.
Hospitality & contract
For hotel suites, resort rooms, serviced apartments and lounges we reinforce the doors, back the cane where needed and specify commercial-grade lacquer, so a media console takes daily use and housekeeping. We match TV units to beds, dressers and seating across a project. See how we build for hotel, restaurant and café projects.
Import-ready on every container
Our solid-wood carcasses ship with FSC chain-of-custody, Vriksh timber-legality and CITES-compliant handling of Dalbergia sissoo (sheesham), backed by ISO, SGS and SEDEX / SMETA audits. We are EUDR-ready with geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence, and we support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation, CARB / TSCA formaldehyde-compliant finishes and ISPM-15 export packing — so your consoles clear the port instead of sitting in it. See every certification we hold, or read our EUDR readiness.
Care & longevity
Natural cane likes an occasional light damp wipe and good air; keep the unit out of direct rain and prolonged sun, which dry out and fade natural fibre, and vacuum dust from the weave now and then. Re-tightening a loosened door panel is rare and simple. The solid-wood carcass moves with climate, so a stable indoor environment, a soft dry wipe and an occasional wood wax keep the finish, door swing and drawer glide sound. We share care guidance with every order so your buyers keep the piece selling for years.
Cane TV units — wholesale & export FAQ
What is a cane TV unit made of?
A cane TV unit is a low media console built around a kiln-dried solid-wood carcass — sheesham (Indian rosewood), mango or acacia — with hand-woven cane set into the cabinet doors and, where the design calls for it, the end panels. Cane is the thin, glossy outer skin peeled from the rattan palm, the same material used for classic chair-back webbing. The solid wood forms the top, carcass, legs and shelves and carries the weight of the television and equipment; the cane gives the long front its airy, light-filtering face while letting heat and remote-control signals pass through. Every unit has at least one solid-wood component — we do not supply plywood-only or veneer-wrapped media consoles.
Is a cane-door TV unit strong enough to hold a large flat-screen?
Yes, because the solid wood does the structural work. The television sits on a solid-wood top supported by the carcass, shelves and legs, and most cane sits in framed, rebated doors that hide a set-top box, console or soundbar — so the load never bears on the weave. For a wall-mounted screen the unit is simply the storage base beneath it. We build to carry the weight of large flat-panel sets and media kit, and QC-check each console for top load, door swing, shelf strength and panel integrity.
Do cane doors let the TV remote and equipment heat through?
They do, and that is a practical reason designers specify cane on a media unit. The open hand-woven weave lets infra-red remote signals reach a set-top box, amplifier or games console behind a closed door, and lets the heat those devices give off vent instead of building up inside a sealed cabinet. We can set the weave open or closed to balance ventilation, signal pass-through and the look you want, and add cable ports and open equipment bays where the design calls for them.
What are the standard dimensions of a cane TV unit?
Common widths run 120, 140, 160 and 180 cm, around 40–45 cm deep and 45–55 cm high — low enough to sit a screen at comfortable viewing height — usually with two to four cane-front doors, open media bays or a door-and-drawer mix over adjustable shelves. These are starting points, not limits: as an OEM manufacturer we build cane TV units to your exact width, depth, height, door, drawer and bay count and internal layout for retail and contract ranges.
Can you make cane TV units to our own design or private label?
Yes. We work as both ODM (our catalogue designs) and OEM — manufacturing to your drawings, dimensions, weave pattern, finish and hardware, with custom CNC-cut carcasses, your branding and retail-ready or Amazon-FBA-ready packaging. Send a reference image or a spec and we prototype to it for approval before any production run.
Do cane TV units ship flat-pack, and are they import-compliant for the US and EU?
Many designs ship knock-down (RTA) with bolt-on legs and tops, which protects the woven doors and raises container density on a long, low cabinet. A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container) so you approve wood, weave and door action first; for best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, typically on a 30–45 day lead time. Our solid-wood carcasses ship with FSC chain-of-custody, Vriksh timber-legality and CITES-compliant handling of Dalbergia sissoo (sheesham), backed by ISO, SGS and SEDEX / SMETA audits; we are EUDR-ready and support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation, CARB / TSCA finishes and ISPM-15 export packing.
