Solid-wood floating shelf on concealed solid-brass brackets, handcrafted in India
Small to ship, premium to shelve

A brass floating shelf reads as expensive — and it fills a container fast.

Brass does for a shelf what it does for a light fitting: it catches the light, warms a wall and lifts the whole piece above painted-steel competition. That is why the brass-and-wood floating shelf is one of the quickest-selling wall lines for importers, online sellers and hotel fit-outs — flat enough to pack densely, photogenic enough to anchor a styling shot, and priced on a real material story rather than a trend. We cut and finish the board in our Jodhpur solid-wood workshop and draw the brass brackets and rails honestly in the Moradabad metal cluster, so you can source a true wood-and-brass look with genuine metalwork pedigree from one compliant container.

How brass is worked into the shelf

Brass on the bracket, solid wood on the board.

Brass reaches a floating shelf in a few distinct ways, and each changes the price, the look and how it mounts. We match the construction to how you sell and ship it.

Concealed brass brackets

A steel-cored brass rod or blind cleat set into the back of a solid-wood board, so the shelf appears to float with no visible fixings — the cleanest, most premium build and the volume line.

Exposed brackets & gallery rails

Visible solid-brass L-brackets, pipe-style supports or a raised gallery rail along the board — an honest, decorative metal statement that pairs brass with the warmth of the timber.

All-brass ledges

A picture ledge or slim shelf drawn entirely in brass tube or sheet in Moradabad — for bathrooms, galleries and retail walls where a pure-metal look is wanted. Consolidated into mixed solid-wood loads.

The wood-and-brass board is a certified solid-wood piece, so it ships inside a documented timber container; all-brass ledges are consolidated into mixed solid-wood loads. Read how the metal itself behaves — composition, finishes and care — on our brass material guide, or see every wood and style on the floating shelves hub.

Wood, finish & brass tone

One shelf, your palette — matched to your sample before we cut a container.

Solid-wood boards

Sheesham (Indian rosewood), mango, acacia, teak, reclaimed/old wood or pine — straight-edge, bevelled, bullnose or live-edge, with the grain, density and tone chosen for your market and price point.

Polished, brushed or antique brass

A mirror polish for a bright, luxe bracket; a brushed satin that hides fingerprints on daily-touch rails; or a chemically aged antique tone for a consistent vintage look from day one.

Lacquered & plated

Clear lacquer seals the brass against tarnish, while nickel, chrome, black or gunmetal plating and powder-coat extend the palette and toughen the metal for bathrooms and busy hospitality walls.

Wood finishes run from natural oil and matte or satin lacquer to whitewash, distressed and custom stains matched to your Pantone or sample — all in CARB/TSCA-compliant low-formaldehyde coatings. Fixings, wall plugs and fitting instructions are packed in, and the kit can be private-labelled and rated to your market's load requirement.

Specifications & sizing

Indicative specs — every dimension, bracket and brass finish is made to your order.

The figures opposite are typical ranges for reference. We manufacture to your exact drawings and market requirements, so length, depth, board thickness, edge profile, bracket type and finish are all specified at the quote stage. Material and lot traceability is documented where applicable.

Made for retail & hospitality

The wood-and-brass shelf earns a place in living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and boutique retail, and scales to hotel suites, bars and café back-walls where a warm metal detail lifts the room. Brass is hard-wearing, corrosion-resistant and repairable; we braze and buff the brackets for real use and finish the metal for the wear your setting demands. See the full range we make for hotels, restaurants and bars.

Import-ready & easy to care for

Lacquered brass needs only a dry or barely-damp soft cloth — no abrasives or acidic cleaners that strip the seal; a living finish simply deepens and can be polished bright and re-lacquered, and the wood is re-oiled as needed. On the paperwork side, the solid-wood board and the container clear with FSC, Vriksh, EUDR-ready and CARB/TSCA documentation. See every certification we hold.

Questions buyers ask

Brass floating shelves — wholesale & export FAQ

What is a brass floating shelf?

A brass floating shelf is a wall-mounted shelf where the bracket, support rail or the board edge is worked in solid brass so no visible fixings break the line. We build two honest constructions: a solid-wood board — sheesham, mango, acacia, teak or reclaimed wood — carried on concealed solid-brass brackets or a brass gallery rail, and an all-brass ledge or picture shelf drawn in the Moradabad metal cluster. The wood-plus-brass build is the volume line, because it marries a certified solid-wood component with the glint of real brass. We do not supply plywood or panel shelves.

Does a brass floating shelf tarnish?

Bare brass develops a warm patina over time as the copper in the alloy reacts with air, and many buyers choose that living finish for a collected, vintage look. Where a bright, stable surface is wanted we apply a clear lacquer that seals the metal so it will not tarnish in normal indoor use, while antique and brushed finishes are aged on purpose so they read consistent from day one. For damp rooms and busy hospitality walls we can also plate or powder-coat the brackets.

What is the minimum order for wholesale brass floating shelves?

A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container) so you can approve the brass tone, wood, bracket and finish first. For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and brass floating shelves consolidate well into mixed-category containers alongside other shelving, furniture, metalware and décor. Flat-pack and knock-down options raise container density and cut freight per unit.

Can you make brass floating shelves to our own design or private label?

Yes. We work as both ODM (our ready catalogue designs) and OEM — manufacturing to your drawings, dimensions, edge profile, brass finish and bracket type, with your branding and retail-ready or Amazon-FBA-ready cartons. That includes custom CNC detailing on the board, your logo on the product or packaging, and a private-labelled fixings kit with wall plugs and instructions.

Are your brass floating shelves compliant for US and EU import?

Yes. Brass is a metal, but the solid-wood board and the wider consolidated container still have to clear — so we document FSC chain-of-custody, Vriksh timber-legality and CITES-compliant sheesham handling, with ISO, SGS and SEDEX/SMETA audits, EUDR-ready due diligence, US Lacey Act support, UK Timber Regulation, CARB/TSCA-compliant wood finishes and ISPM-15 export packing. Certificate numbers are shared directly with serious buyers.

What sizes and brackets do you offer for brass floating shelves?

Lengths typically run 300–1200 mm, depths 150–250 mm and board thickness 20–40 mm, with corner, set-of-three and ledge variants. Brackets are concealed blind cleats or a steel-cored brass rod set into the board, visible L-brackets, or a brass gallery rail; these are starting points, and length, depth, thickness, edge and bracket are all made to your specification and load requirement for container orders.
