Why buy from the maker

Fewer hands, cleaner paperwork, better margin.

Buying direct from a manufacturer-exporter means one accountable source for quality, compliance and consolidation — not a trading middleman stacking a markup between you and the workshop. We run our own factory plus a vetted Jodhpur network, so a single order can span solid-wood furniture, metalware, marble and décor in one compliant container, QC-checked on a 30 to 45 day lead time.

Common questions

Furniture buying guide — FAQs.

What should a first-time buyer know before importing furniture from India?

Start with four decisions: which woods and categories you want, whether you need flat-pack or assembled, your Incoterms (FOB or CIF), and the compliance documents your market requires. A trial order can ship LCL (part-container); for best wholesale pricing, one 20ft full container load is the standard minimum thereafter, and mixed categories can share a container.

Which wood should I choose for export furniture?

Sheesham (Indian rosewood) is the dense, premium hardwood with rich grain; mango is lighter, well-priced and takes finishes beautifully; acacia is hard-wearing for dining and outdoor-adjacent use; teak is the durability benchmark; and reclaimed wood suits sustainable, character-led ranges. The right choice depends on your price point, finish and target market.

What is the minimum order to import furniture from Jodhpur?

A trial or sample order can ship LCL so you can test quality and finishes first. After that, one 20ft FCL (full container load) is our standard minimum for competitive pricing, and we consolidate furniture, metalware and décor into a single mixed container.

How long does furniture production and shipping take?

Typical lead time is 30 to 45 days from order confirmation, with QC on every piece and full compliance documentation. Urgent orders can be accommodated at a premium. We ship from Mundra or Nhava Sheva, FOB or CIF.

What compliance do I need to import wooden furniture into the US or EU?

For the EU, the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requires geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence, alongside the UK Timber Regulation for Britain. For the US, Lacey Act declarations and CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant finishes apply. All markets need ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing. We supply FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh timber-legality documentation to support each.

Is flat-pack or assembled furniture better for importing?

Flat-pack (knockdown / RTA) maximises container density, lowers freight per unit and reduces transit breakage — ideal for large importers and online sellers. Assembled suits premium, ready-to-display pieces and hospitality fit-outs. Many buyers mix both in one container; we build to either specification.
