Importing furniture from India, without the guesswork.
Everything an overseas buyer needs to source solid-wood furniture and handcrafted décor from India — minimum orders, Incoterms, lead times, timber compliance, packing and documentation — set out plainly, from the manufacturer-exporter who ships it.
The solid-wood alternative to China — with the paperwork to back it.
Jodhpur is the recognised global hub for solid-wood and handcrafted furniture exports. Buyers diversifying their supply base come here for genuine sheesham, mango, acacia and reclaimed-wood pieces — and increasingly for the compliance trail that lets a container clear US and EU customs cleanly. This hub walks through the commercial and regulatory mechanics of importing, then points you to the detail you need next.

Sourcing for importersImporting from India, answered.
How do I start importing furniture from India?
Send us your catalogue, drawings or a reference image with target quantities. We reply with an FOB or CIF quotation, the applicable MOQ and a 30–45 day lead-time estimate. A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container) so you can approve the wood, finish and build before committing to a full container.
What is the minimum order to import furniture from India?
A trial or sample order can ship LCL. For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load (FCL) is our standard minimum. We consolidate mixed categories — furniture, metalware, marble and décor — into a single compliant container, and flat-pack (knockdown) goods raise container density further.
What are the shipping terms and ports for furniture from India?
We ship worldwide on FOB or CIF Incoterms, loading from Mundra and Nhava Sheva. We do not hold overseas stock, so goods are produced to order and shipped direct. Flat-pack construction is offered to maximise container fill and reduce freight cost per unit.
Is Indian furniture compliant for import into the US and EU?
Yes. We document FSC chain-of-custody, Vriksh timber-legality and CITES-compliant handling of sheesham, are EUDR-ready with geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence, and support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation, CARB / TSCA formaldehyde finishes and ISPM-15 heat-treated packaging. Certificate numbers are shared directly with serious buyers.
How long does it take to import furniture from India?
Typical production lead time is 30–45 days from order and sample approval, plus ocean transit to your port. Urgent orders can be expedited at a premium. We provide full compliance and export documentation with every shipment to keep customs clearance a non-event.
Can you make furniture to my own designs and brand?
Yes — we work as both ODM (our own catalogue designs) and OEM (made to your drawings, finishes and private-label specification), with custom CNC carving, bespoke prototyping and branded, retail-ready or Amazon-FBA-ready packaging.
