Mango wood wardrobes, built for export — made in Jodhpur.
A hard, sustainable hardwood that takes painted, two-tone and distressed finishes beautifully — mango is the retail-volume wardrobe wood. We manufacture freestanding wardrobes and armoires for importers, retailers, private-label brands and hospitality buyers worldwide, assembled or flat-pack, fully documented for US and EU customs.
A genuine hardwood at a smart landed cost — and a finish for every range.
Mango (Mangifera indica) bridges the gap between cheap softwood and premium rosewood. It carries real density — a Janka hardness around 1,070 lbf, comparable to American black walnut and harder than most pine and panel board — which is exactly what a wardrobe needs: a tall, load-bearing case with weighted doors, a hanging rail that takes the full weight of a wardrobe of clothes, and shelves that must not bow. A solid-mango frame holds that structure true, yet costs less to buy and ship than sheesham, which is what makes it the easiest solid wood to carry in retail volume.
Its second advantage is colour. Mango runs pale and even with a lustrous, interlocked grain, so it is the wardrobe wood that finishes in any direction: left natural and oiled for a Scandinavian look, painted in soft sage or ivory for a cottage range, distressed and antiqued for farmhouse, two-toned with a contrasting carcass and doors, or banded in iron for industrial. One timber, one factory, your whole wardrobe catalogue.
The mango wardrobe, your way.
Solid-wood build
Solid-mango carcass, doors and face frames, with mortise-and-tenon or doweled joinery, hanging rails, adjustable shelves and dovetailed base drawers. Soft-close hinges, brass or iron handles and optional cane-front or mirrored panels — not a veneer or panel look-alike.
Finishes that sell
Natural oil and wax, satin or gloss PU lacquer, whitewash and limewash, hand-distressed antique tones, painted and two-tone, dark walnut and espresso stain — all CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant for US and EU retail.
Assembled or flat-pack
Knockdown / flat-pack (RTA) to cut freight and breakage and fill the container tighter — the sensible choice for a bulky wardrobe — or showroom-ready assembled. ISPM-15 heat-treated packing; retail-ready and Amazon-FBA-ready cartons on request.

Built for the bedroom, the guest room and the rental.
A wardrobe is a high-ticket, long-life anchor of any bedroom range, and mango's price and finish breadth let you span entry and mid-tier price points from a single wood — a genuine solid-wood story at a margin budget panel wardrobes can't match. Pair a mango two-door wardrobe with a matching mango wood bed, nightstands and a dresser to sell the complete bedroom set in one finish, or mix it into a container alongside sheesham, acacia and reclaimed-wood ranges across the full solid wood wardrobe collection. For the full picture of the timber — hardness, grain, sustainability and finishes across every product type — see our mango wood furniture material guide.
Mango wardrobes that clear customs — and carry a sustainability story.
A wardrobe is a heavy hardwood piece, which means timber legality is scrutinised at the border — and mango gives you an unusually clean story to tell: an orchard by-product, felled on a replant cycle rather than taken from forest. We document it with FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh timber-legality, are EUDR-ready with geolocated, deforestation-free due diligence, and support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation and CARB / TSCA finishes, with SEDEX / SMETA social audit behind the factory. Certificate numbers are shared directly with serious buyers on request.
| Requirement | Our standard |
|---|---|
| Timber legality | Vriksh verified · deforestation-free mango |
| Sustainability | FSC chain-of-custody · orchard by-product |
| EU & UK market | EUDR-ready · geolocation · UKTR |
| US market | Lacey Act support · CARB / TSCA finishes |

How mango wardrobes hold up — and how to keep them selling.
Mango is strong and dimensionally stable when properly kiln-dried, but like all solid hardwood it moves with humidity, so our wardrobes are conditioned and finished to withstand sea-freight and varied destination climates, with doors and hinges adjusted to stay true. For your care cards and listings: keep the piece indoors, out of direct sunlight and away from radiators and vents; dust with a soft dry cloth and wipe spills promptly; avoid soaking, harsh solvents and silicone sprays; and feed oiled or waxed surfaces with a suitable wood wax two to four times a year, while lacquered and PU-sealed finishes need only regular dusting. Mango is not naturally rot-resistant, so it is an indoor wardrobe wood — for outdoor or garden storage we recommend sheesham, acacia or teak. Flat-pack units arrive with fittings and clear assembly guidance for retail or end customers.
What buyers ask before they order.
Is mango wood good for a wardrobe?
Yes. Mango (Mangifera indica) is a dense tropical hardwood with a Janka hardness around 1,070 lbf — comparable to American black walnut and harder than the pine and panel board used in most budget wardrobes. That strength matters in a tall, door-heavy piece: solid-mango frames carry weighted doors, hanging rails and loaded shelves without sag, and the wood takes paint, stain and lacquer cleanly, so the wardrobe sells as genuine solid wood rather than a veneer look-alike.
Is mango wood sustainable for wardrobes?
Mango is one of the most sustainable furniture timbers. The tree is grown primarily for fruit; after roughly fifteen years its yield falls and it is felled and replanted as part of normal orchard rotation, so a mango wardrobe uses a by-product of existing agriculture rather than timber taken from forest. We supply it with FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh timber-legality documentation and are EUDR-ready with deforestation-free, geolocated due diligence.
Do mango wood wardrobes ship flat-pack?
Yes. Wardrobes are our most freight-sensitive bedroom line, so most mango wardrobes are available knockdown / flat-pack / RTA — doors, carcass panels, rails and shelves pack flat to cut freight cost and transit breakage and raise container density. Fully assembled construction is also available where you prefer showroom-ready delivery, and flat-pack units arrive with fittings and clear assembly guidance.
What finishes work best on a mango wood wardrobe?
Mango's pale, even tone makes it the most versatile wardrobe wood for finishing. It takes natural matte oil and wax, satin and gloss PU lacquer, hand-distressed and antique tones, whitewash and limewash, dark walnut and espresso stains, painted and two-tone fronts, and metal-banded industrial styling. All interior-market finishes are specified CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant on request.
What is the minimum order for mango wood wardrobes?
A trial or sample wardrobe can ship LCL (part container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load (FCL) is our standard minimum, and we consolidate mango wardrobes with beds, nightstands, dressers and other categories into a single mixed container. Typical lead time is 30–45 days, with urgent orders at a premium.
Can you make mango wardrobes to our own design or private label?
Yes. We are both ODM (our ready catalogue designs) and OEM — we manufacture to your drawings, dimensions, door counts, internal layout, finishes and private-label requirements, including custom CNC carving, bespoke hardware and branded or retail-ready packaging.
Send a reference or your own drawing — we quote FOB/CIF with MOQ and lead time.
Sample first on LCL, approve the wood and finish, then scale to full containers on a 30–45 day lead. Compare woods across the full wardrobe range or request a sample mango wardrobe to assess the build and finish in person.
