Cane wardrobes — hand-woven rattan doors on solid-wood carcasses.
A cane-fronted wardrobe turns a large storage piece into something light and textural — and lets the clothes inside breathe. We manufacture cane and rattan wardrobes in Jodhpur, with hand-woven door panels set into kiln-dried solid-wood cabinets, built to your sizes and finish and shipped from a single trial order up to repeat container volumes.
Storage that breathes — and lightens the room.
A wardrobe is the largest single object in most bedrooms, and a solid slab of timber can dominate. Set hand-woven cane into the doors and the whole piece reads lighter: the open weave adds pattern and warmth while keeping the cabinet visually airy, which is exactly why cane fronts are a signature of coastal, boho, Scandinavian and resort interiors. The practical payoff is just as real — the weave lets air pass through the doors, so folded linen, cotton and woollens breathe instead of sitting sealed in a box, cutting the musty, closed-cupboard smell and damp that solid doors can trap. On our wardrobes the weave is purely decorative; the carcass, back panel, hinges and rail are all kiln-dried solid wood, so you get the relaxed woven look with the strength and squareness of a proper cabinet. Rattan and cane are fast-growing, renewable and low-waste, giving the piece a genuine sustainability story to carry to retail, and because each panel is caned by hand it can be re-caned years later rather than scrapped. It is an indoor material, built as a calm, textural centrepiece.

| Sustainability | Rattan is fast-growing and renewable; FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh for the timber on request |

| Best settings | Coastal and boho bedrooms, boutique and resort hotels, designer collections |
Weave pattern, tension and timber tone vary by hand, so we recommend approving a physical sample before production. Request a cane sample and we will send weave and finish references. See the cane & rattan material guide for the full profile.

Light to look at, built to last and repairable.
A cane-fronted wardrobe is low-maintenance: dust the weave with a soft brush or vacuum on a low setting, and wipe the timber carcass with a barely damp cloth. Keep the piece out of prolonged direct sun, which can dry and yellow natural cane, and away from standing damp — cane is an indoor material, not an open-outdoor one. In very dry rooms an occasional light mist helps the weave hold its tension; in humid coastal hotels we tension and seal the panels so they keep their shape, while the open weave keeps the interior ventilated and fresh. The structural load and door swing sit on the kiln-dried carcass, hinges and rail, so the wardrobe stays square and sturdy regardless of the weave. Best of all, a cane panel can be re-caned years down the line rather than discarded, extending the life of the piece. Full care and finish guidance ships with every order so your retail and hospitality customers get consistent advice.
Cane wardrobe sourcing, answered.
What is the difference between cane and rattan on your wardrobes?
Rattan is the solid climbing palm we use for door frames and any bent or wrapped detail; cane is the thin outer bark of that palm, split and woven into the webbing panel that fills the doors. On a cane wardrobe the carcass and doors are kiln-dried solid wood, with a hand-woven cane panel set into each door frame — so you get the airy woven look with the strength and squareness of a timber cabinet underneath.
Do cane doors keep clothes ventilated?
Yes, and it is the main practical reason to choose cane for a wardrobe. The open weave lets air move through the doors, so stored linen, cotton and woollens breathe instead of sitting in a sealed box. That reduces the musty, closed-cupboard smell and damp build-up that solid-panel wardrobes can trap, which makes cane a favourite for coastal, resort and warm-climate interiors. The weave still screens the contents from view.
Are cane wardrobes sturdy enough for daily use and hotel rooms?
Yes. The weight and racking load are carried by the solid-wood carcass, back panel and hinges, not by the cane, so the wardrobe is as sturdy as any timber cabinet. The woven cane is a decorative, non-structural infill in the doors. We tension the weave tightly and seal it, and a panel can be re-caned years later rather than scrapping the whole piece — a repairability upholstered or veneered doors cannot match.
What sizes and configurations do you make?
We build one-, two- and three-door wardrobes and tall armoires, with hanging rail, adjustable shelves, internal drawers and optional cane-fronted base drawers. Widths, heights and internal layout are all specifiable and we manufacture to your exact drawing for resort and boutique projects, in US, UK and EU room proportions.
What is your minimum order for cane wardrobes?
A trial order can ship LCL so you can assess the weave, carcass and hardware before committing. For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and we consolidate cane wardrobes with matching beds, nightstands, dressers and other categories into a single mixed, compliance-documented container.
Can you make cane wardrobes to our own design and brand?
Yes. We work as ODM (our catalogue designs) and OEM (your drawings, door styles, weave patterns, wood species, finishes, hardware and private-label or retail-ready packaging), including arched, fluted and cane-and-rattan detailing, plus matching coastal and boho bedroom collections.
Approve the weave and finish, then ship from one container up.
Sign off the weave pattern, timber tone, hardware and finish on a physical sample, then scale from a trial order to repeat container volumes on a 30–45 day lead time — QC-governed and documented for your market.
