Marble top sideboard on a solid sheesham wood base with brass hardware

What it is

A stone-topped buffet built to survive the container and the dining room

A marble top sideboard pairs a naturally veined stone surface with a solid-wood storage body — drawers and cabinets for a dining room, hallway, bar or hotel lobby. The marble gives a cool, hard-wearing serving and display surface; the wood below carries the load and the craft. We build the carcass in kiln-dried solid timber, never plywood or particle board, so the piece stays flat and tight through ocean freight and years of use.

Each top is cut from genuine quarried marble or allied stone and sealed against stains and moisture. Because the veining is natural, no two tops are identical — a feature we document in your sample approval so expectations are set before a full run. Stone thickness, edge profile, overhang and finish are all confirmed to your specification.

Materials & properties

The wood under the stone decides how it ships and how long it lasts

Sheesham (Indian rosewood)

Dense, close-grained and dimensionally stable — the classic Jodhpur base for marble tops. CITES-compliant handling of Dalbergia sissoo is documented for every shipment.

Mango & acacia

Warm grain, strong and sustainable, well suited to painted, natural and distressed finishes for retail and hospitality programmes.

Reclaimed & teak

Reclaimed old-wood for character-grade, deforestation-free ranges; teak for premium, moisture-tolerant builds.

Bases can be framed or footed in wrought iron, and finished with brass pulls, cane fronts or bone/mother-of-pearl inlay — consolidated with the rest of your order. See the full marble and stone material guide and the solid sheesham wood guide.

Care & handling

Keeping the stone and wood right

Marble is porous even when sealed: wipe spills promptly, avoid acidic cleaners, and use coasters under glasses. Clean with a soft, damp cloth and a pH-neutral stone cleaner; re-seal periodically in high-use hospitality settings. The solid-wood base benefits from a stable indoor climate away from direct heat. We supply care guidance and, where a programme needs it, lot and finish traceability so your own after-sales support is covered.

FAQ

Marble top sideboard — buyer questions

What stone is used on a marble top sideboard?

We work in genuine quarried marble and allied stone, sealed for stain and moisture resistance. Each slab is naturally veined, so colour and movement vary piece to piece. We confirm stone type, thickness, edge profile and finish against your specification before production.

What wood is the base made from?

Bases are built in solid sheesham (Indian rosewood), mango, acacia, teak or reclaimed wood, with optional wrought-iron framing. We do not use plywood or particle board as the structural carcass — only kiln-dried solid timber for export stability.

Are marble top sideboards available flat-pack?

Yes. We supply assembled units and knockdown / flat-pack (RTA) versions. Flat-pack maximises container density, lowers freight per unit and reduces transit breakage — the stone top ships crated and braced separately.

What is the minimum order and lead time?

A trial or sample order can ship LCL. For best pricing the minimum is one 20ft FCL, and mixed-category containers are supported. Typical lead time is 30–45 days; urgent orders are accepted at a premium.

Can you private-label or build to our own design?

Yes. We offer ODM from our ready designs and full OEM — your drawings, dimensions, finish, hardware and branded or retail-ready packaging. CNC carving and bespoke sizing are available.

Are the materials certified and export-compliant?

Yes. We operate with FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh timber-legality verification, are EUDR due-diligence and US Lacey Act ready, and use CARB / TSCA-compliant finishes with ISPM-15 export packaging. Certificate numbers are shared directly with serious buyers.
