The Nordic brief, built on a real slab

Light wood, honest joinery, nothing wasted.

Scandinavian design is a discipline of restraint — pale timber, low sheen, slim legs and visible, well-made joints, with the grain left to do the decorating. We build that language on a genuine live-edge slab cut and kiln-dried in Jodhpur, India's largest solid-wood cluster. The soft natural edge keeps a quiet organic character while the base stays minimal: tapered solid-wood legs, a gentle angled splay, or a slim steel frame in muted tone. The finish is close to the raw wood — a matte oil or low-sheen lacquer in a blond, whitewashed or soft-grey key — so the table feels warm and uncluttered in a home, a studio or a café. It is a headline dining top for independent retail and online ranges, a calm centrepiece for boutique hospitality, and an easy anchor for designers specifying a light, contemporary scheme.

Pale slab woods

Acacia and mango in light oiled tones, rubberwood and pine for a clean uniform blond, whitewashed sheesham for lightened grain.

Minimal legs

Slim tapered solid-wood legs, angled splay frames, hairpin, or powder-coated slim steel in black, white or muted grey.

Soft finishes

Natural matte oil, low-sheen satin lacquer, whitewash and soft-grey washes — never glossy — CARB / TSCA Title VI compliant.

Quiet edge

Natural live edge sanded smooth, or a lightly straightened edge for a cleaner Scandi line — your call per range.

Ways to build the look

Choose the base and edge that fit your range.

Each format is made to order under our OEM program and can be produced across any of our pale slab woods. Mix formats within one collection, or standardise on one for a consistent retail line.

Tapered wood legs

Slim, round or square solid-wood legs that taper to the floor — the most recognisably mid-century-Nordic base, in a tone matched to the top.

Angled splay frame

Lightly splayed legs with a fine stretcher, giving an airy, lifted stance that keeps the slab the focus.

Slim steel base

A fine powder-coated steel frame in black, white or muted grey — minimal visual weight, maximum stability for wider tops.

Hairpin legs

Three-rod hairpin legs for a lighter, Scandi-industrial read on smaller four- and six-seat tops.

Softened live edge

The natural waney edge kept and sanded smooth, so the organic line stays while the frame does the minimalism.

Clean straight edge

A lightly straightened or squared edge on the long sides for a purer Scandi geometry, with the slab character kept in the grain.

The compliance edge

A minimal table that clears customs as cleanly as it sets a room.

A Scandinavian dining table is still a single piece of solid wood — which makes timber-legality documentation the difference between a container that lands and one that waits. We cut the slab from Vriksh-verified, FSC chain-of-custody stock, handle sheesham to CITES norms, and prepare EUDR geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence before you ask. Lacey Act, UK Timber Regulation, CARB / TSCA Title VI low-emission finishes and ISPM-15 packing are covered as standard, and production runs under SGS-inspectable, SEDEX / SMETA-audited conditions.

Care & handling

Keeping the slab flat and the finish soft.

The Scandinavian look depends on a finish that stays close to the raw wood, so care is simple and we supply guidance per order for your retail or hospitality customers. The slab is kiln-dried to export moisture levels and engineered to move with the seasons — butterfly keys, breadboard ends and slotted leg fixings let a wide top expand and contract without splitting. Keep it out of direct heat and prolonged sun, wipe with a soft dry or barely-damp cloth, avoid soaking, and refresh oil-finished tops periodically to hold the matte, pale tone; low-sheen lacquered tops need only routine dusting.

Because the palette is light, we recommend coordinating the whole setting at order stage — pair these tops with matching light-wood or upholstered dining chairs and a sideboard in the same finish key to ship a complete, single-source Scandinavian dining range in one container. Tell us the tone you are matching and we calibrate every piece to one approved sample.

Questions buyers ask

Scandinavian dining tables — FAQs.

What makes a dining table Scandinavian?

A Scandinavian dining table reads as light, calm and minimal: a pale solid-wood top in a matte, close-to-natural finish, carried on slim tapered or lightly angled legs with honest, visible joinery and no heavy ornament. In our program we build that language on a natural-edge live-edge slab — acacia, mango, rubberwood, pine or whitewashed sheesham — so the top keeps a soft organic edge while the base stays clean and understated. Form follows function, the wood grain is the decoration.

Which woods suit a Scandinavian look best?

Lighter, even-toned woods carry the Nordic aesthetic most naturally. We favour acacia and mango in pale oiled or whitewashed finishes, rubberwood and pine for a clean uniform blond tone, and sheesham lightened with a soft grey or white wash where a buyer wants the heavier Indian rosewood grain in a Scandi palette. Every slab is kiln-dried to export moisture and finished with a low-sheen oil or matte lacquer rather than a glossy coat.

Can you build Scandinavian dining tables to our own sizes and finishes?

Yes. As an ODM and OEM manufacturer we build to your drawings — custom length, width, slab thickness, edge profile, leg geometry and finish tone. Send a reference image, a sketch or a target product and we match the slab, the leg style (tapered solid-wood, angled splay, hairpin or slim steel) and the exact pale finish to an approved sample before production, including private-label branding and packaging.

Are your Scandinavian dining tables compliant for import into the US and EU?

Yes. The slab is cut from FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh-verified stock, sheesham is handled to CITES norms, and we are EUDR-ready with geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence. We support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation, and CARB / TSCA Title VI-compliant low-emission finishes, with ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing, SGS inspection and SEDEX / SMETA-audited production available.

Do Scandinavian dining tables ship flat-pack to lower freight?

Yes. Most ship knockdown — the slab top packs flat and the slim legs or base detach — which lowers freight cost and breakage risk and raises container density, a natural fit for the pared-back Scandi leg design. Fully assembled tables are available on request. Flat-pack is the format most online sellers and large importers choose for last-mile and warehouse handling.

What is your minimum order and lead time for Scandinavian dining tables?

A trial or sample table can ship LCL (part-container) so you can approve the slab, the pale finish and the leg style first. For best wholesale pricing thereafter our standard minimum is one 20ft full container load, and these tables mix freely with dining chairs, benches, sideboards and décor into a single compliant container. Typical lead time is 30 to 45 days, with urgent orders at a premium; we quote FOB or CIF from Mundra or Nhava Sheva.
