Rustic headboards — raw plank grain, live-edge slabs and honest reclaimed character.

The rustic headboard is the one bedroom feature that cannot be faked convincingly — its whole appeal is solid, honest timber. We manufacture rustic headboards in Jodhpur in reclaimed wood, solid acacia and mango, and as live-edge slabs: heavy plank panels, knotty grain, visible tool marks and a natural matte finish. Wall-mounted, bed-attached or freestanding, legally sourced, and supplied from a single trial order up to repeat container volumes.

Why rustic headboards sell

The headboard does the work — so make it real wood.

In a rustic bedroom the headboard is the hero. It fills the wall above the bed and sets the whole mood, which is exactly why a laminate or printed-grain version falls flat and a solid-wood panel wins: the character has to be genuine. We build the panel in heavy solid-wood boards or a single live-edge slab, and the style is a natural home for reclaimed/old wood — its salvaged colour shifts, saw marks and original nail holes read as honest age rather than manufactured distress. Each panel reads a little differently, and that uniqueness is the point. For lodge and cabin retailers, mountain and countryside resorts, farmhouse and boho ranges, and buyers chasing a warm, grounded bedroom, a rustic headboard is a distinctive, high-margin anchor that carries a real sustainability story when built from reclaimed timber.

Care & durability

Rugged by nature, engineered to hang straight for years.

Rustic headboards are kiln-dried to stable moisture levels before the panel is built — important for reclaimed timber, which we re-dry and stabilise so a salvaged plank behaves predictably in a heated or air-conditioned bedroom and will not cup or split on the wall. Plank faces are glued and cleated or battened on the reverse for flatness, knots are stabilised and sealed, and wall-mount panels ship with concealed cleat fixing rated for the panel weight. Natural matte and oiled finishes are easy to maintain: dust with a soft dry cloth, wipe the occasional mark promptly, and re-oil lightly if an oiled finish was chosen to keep the grain rich. Minor marks simply add to the character rather than detract from it. Full fixing and care guidance ships with every order, and you can read more about the woods we use on our reclaimed wood and acacia wood material pages.

Questions buyers ask

Rustic headboard sourcing, answered.

What makes a headboard 'rustic'?

A rustic headboard leans into the honesty of real timber — heavy plank boards or a single live-edge slab, knotty grain, visible saw and tool marks, and a natural matte or lightly oiled finish instead of a high polish. Reclaimed/old wood suits the look especially well because its salvaged colour shifts and original nail holes read as genuine age. We build the panel in solid wood, so the weight and texture are real rather than printed or veneered.

Which woods do you use for rustic headboards?

We build rustic headboards in reclaimed/old wood for authentic salvaged character, in solid acacia and mango for warm knotty grain, and as live-edge slabs that keep the tree's natural edge. All are solid-wood materials, legally sourced with FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh timber-legality documentation available on request, and reclaimed wood carries its own deforestation-free sustainability story.

Do your rustic headboards mount to the wall or attach to a bed?

Both. We supply wall-mounted rustic headboards with concealed cleat or bracket fixing, bed-attached headboards drilled for standard US and European bed-frame bolt patterns, and freestanding panels that lean. Tell us the fixing you need and the market sizes you sell, and we build to that specification.

Is the knotty, marked look a defect?

No. Knots, grain variation, tool marks and, in reclaimed wood, old nail holes and colour shifts are intentional features of rustic furniture, not flaws — they give each headboard its character. We stabilise and seal knots and fill only where structure requires it, and we agree the acceptable range of character with you on a physical sample before production.

Can rustic headboards ship flat to cut freight?

Yes. A headboard is a flat panel, so it stacks and ships efficiently in protected cartons with edge and corner protection, in plain, retail-ready, Amazon-FBA-ready or branded packaging. Legs or fixing hardware pack alongside, keeping freight and breakage low — ISPM-15 heat-treated, FOB or CIF from Mundra or Nhava Sheva.

What is your minimum order for rustic headboards?

A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and we consolidate rustic headboards with matching beds, nightstands, benches and other categories into a single mixed container.
