Live edge headboards — natural-edge solid wood slabs, built for export.

Each headboard keeps the tree's own waney edge, grain and figure — milled from solid acacia, sheesham, mango or reclaimed wood, kiln-dried and sealed to travel, finished to your spec and consolidated into one container with the rest of your bedroom range.

What a live edge headboard is

The tree's own outline becomes the hero of the bed.

Instead of a sawn straight line, a live edge headboard keeps the natural, organic edge of the slab — the waney profile, the grain movement, the figure that only one tree ever grew. It is the single most photographed piece in a bedroom set and the one that stops a shopper scrolling. We mill each headboard from genuine solid wood, remove the bark, stabilise the natural voids and checks, then build it onto a solid-wood frame so the character you sell on is the character that arrives.

The wood & its benefits

Four slabs, four price points, one organic look.

The live edge is a style; the wood underneath is what you are really buying. We match the slab to your end use and margin.

Acacia — the hardest, most figured

Dense, high-Janka tropical hardwood with bold multi-tone grain and natural oils that resist wear. Its figure makes the natural edge read dramatically, and its hardness means the slab takes years of bedroom use without denting. Our go-to for premium retail and hospitality programs.

Sheesham — fine grain, deep colour

Indian rosewood (Dalbergia sissoo), dense and tight-grained with rich tonal variation that finishes to a warm, even depth. The dependable volume hardwood, handled CITES-compliant with full timber-legality paperwork on every shipment.

Mango — open grain, cost-advantaged

Lighter and more open-grained, with a pale-to-honey tone that suits the lighter, Scandinavian and coastal live edge look. The most price-competitive slab for high-volume online and chain-retail ranges.

Reclaimed / old wood — story & sustainability

Salvaged timber with patina and nail-fill character that already carries age — the ideal partner for a natural edge and the deforestation-free story that EU and US buyers now ask for. Pairs naturally with wrought-iron legs for the industrial range.

Sizes & specification

Built to your market's bed standard — or your exact slab.

We manufacture live edge headboards to US, UK and European bed standards and to fully custom widths and heights. The table shows typical US sizing as a guide; because the edge follows the tree, final width, slab thickness, height, fixing type and the natural-edge profile are confirmed per order.

Retail & online ranges

The natural edge photographs as a hero and justifies a premium price point. We batch-match slabs for colour and width so a catalogue line stays consistent, and flat-pack construction keeps freight and breakage down for Wayfair, Amazon and chain-retail programs.

Hospitality & contract

Boutique hotels and resorts use a single live edge headboard to anchor a room's identity. We build on a commercial-grade solid-wood frame, match it across a floor's worth of rooms, and document every piece for the project's compliance file.

Designers & private label

Send a slab reference or a drawing; we mill, finish and brand to your OEM spec, including bespoke voids filled with tinted resin and your choice of leg or wall-mount hardware. One-off statement pieces or a full private-label collection.

Most Jodhpur exporters can cut a slab; few can batch it consistently, kiln-dry it to survive a dry destination, and hand you the timber-legality paperwork a US or EU importer now needs. We do all three — from a trial order up to repeat container volumes, on a 30–45 day lead time, with QC on every piece and a factory visit on prior intimation.

Compliance

Documented timber, finishes your market accepts.

Our acacia, sheesham, mango and reclaimed slabs are covered by FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh timber-legality, with CITES-compliant handling of Dalbergia sissoo. Live edge headboards are EUDR-ready with geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence, supported for US Lacey Act declarations and UK Timber Regulation, finished with CARB / TSCA-compliant materials and packed to ISPM-15. Audits run through ISO, SGS and SEDEX / SMETA.

Care

Keeping the slab stable and the finish deep.

A sealed, kiln-dried slab stays stable when kept out of direct heat, radiators and strong sun. Dust with a dry or lightly damp cloth, wipe spills promptly, and refresh oiled finishes with a wood-friendly oil or wax once or twice a year to feed the grain. We supply care guidance with every order so your end customers protect the finish — and your reviews.

Common buyer questions

Live edge headboard sourcing, answered.

What is a live edge headboard?

A live edge headboard keeps the natural, organic outline of the tree at its top or sides instead of a sawn straight line, so every piece carries the original waney edge, grain movement and character of the slab. We mill it from solid acacia, sheesham, mango or reclaimed wood, remove the bark, stabilise and fill any natural voids, then finish it to your spec on a solid-wood frame with freestanding, wall-mounted or bed-frame fixings.

What wood do you use for live edge headboards and is each one unique?

We cut live edge headboards from solid acacia, sheesham (Indian rosewood), mango and reclaimed/old wood. Because the edge follows the tree, no two slabs are identical — grain, figure and the natural-edge profile vary piece to piece. For retail ranges that need visual consistency we can batch-match slabs for colour and width tolerance; for one-off statement pieces we lean into the variation.

What bed sizes do you make live edge headboards for?

We build to any market's bed standard. For US buyers that means Twin, Full/Double, Queen, King and California King; we also produce UK and European sizes and fully custom widths and heights to your drawing. Freestanding, wall-mounted and bed-frame-integrated fixings are all available.

Will a live edge slab crack or warp when shipped to a dry climate?

Our slabs are kiln-dried to a controlled moisture content and sealed on all faces, which is what keeps a natural-wood panel stable when it moves from a humid port to a dry or heated interior. Natural checks and voids are filled or stabilised during finishing. We ship with care guidance so your end customer keeps the piece out of direct heat and strong sun and preserves the finish.

What is the minimum order for live edge headboards?

A sample or trial order can ship LCL (part-container) so you can approve the slab, finish and build first. For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and we consolidate live edge headboards with beds, nightstands and live edge tables into one mixed bedroom container.

Are your live edge headboards compliant for US and EU import?

Yes. We document FSC chain-of-custody, Vriksh timber-legality and CITES-compliant handling of sheesham, with ISO, SGS and SEDEX/SMETA audits. We are EUDR-ready with geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence, and we support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation, CARB/TSCA formaldehyde-compliant finishes and ISPM-15 export packaging.
