Boho floating shelves — carved, cane and reclaimed wall shelving for the bohemian room.
Boho is a style built on genuine craft — carved and scalloped solid wood, woven cane, reclaimed boards and brass, finished to look collected rather than catalogued. We manufacture bohemian floating shelves in Jodhpur, India's handcraft heartland, legally sourced and FSC and EUDR-ready, with concealed mounting hardware, your finish, and import paperwork done before you ask.
Wall shelving that looks collected, not catalogued.
Bohemian style is the opposite of a flat, machined board — it rewards natural materials, hand-work and the eclectic mix a global traveller might gather over years. On a floating shelf that translates into a few signatures: a solid-wood board with grain you can read, hand-carved or scalloped edges, arched and half-moon silhouettes, panels of woven cane or rattan, reclaimed and live-edge boards that keep the natural tree line, and brass or antiqued-iron brackets when the look wants visible metal. Finishes stay warm and lived-in rather than high-gloss. None of this is a trend we chase — it is the carved-wood, cane and metalware craft Jodhpur and its sister clusters have exported for generations, which is why a boho shelf programme sits so naturally on our bench. For buyers, the appeal is margin and story: the board looks hand-selected, the artisanal detail photographs beautifully for e-commerce, and the eclectic look mixes across a whole wall of mirrors, planters and wall art.
Materials and detail that define the style.
Every boho floating shelf we build has a genuine solid-wood board — we do not position as a plywood or panel supplier — combined with the natural and handcrafted materials below. Mix them to hit a specific look, from pared-back Scandi-boho to richly layered global eclectic.
| Element | What it brings to a boho floating shelf |
|---|---|
| Solid wood | Mango, sheesham, acacia and reclaimed wood — visible grain, carved or scalloped edges |
| Reclaimed & live-edge | Old-wood boards with real patina and natural edges — the sustainability story buyers want to tell |
| Cane & rattan | Hand-woven fronts and wrapped detail for texture and an airy, natural feel |
| Brass | Strip trim, inlay and antiqued bracket accents for warmth and shine |
| Wrought iron | Antiqued or powder-coated brackets and corbels for a layered, artisanal mount |
| Edge profiles | Scalloped, arched, half-moon, chamfered and raw live-edge rather than a plain square board |
| Finishes | Natural matt, oil, honey, walnut, limed, whitewashed, distressed and antique patinas |
Because grain, cane and finish vary from piece to piece, we recommend approving a physical sample before production. Request a boho floating shelf sample and we will send material, edge and finish references for your range. To build around one material, see the reclaimed wood material guide or the cane and rattan guide.
Arched, scalloped, corner or set — matched to the wall.
Arched and half-moon boards and scalloped edges carry the boho look best, while corner units and tiered sets ship as one SKU for strong e-commerce bundles. Concealed brackets keep the handcraft leading; exposed brass and antiqued iron are there when the look wants visible metal. Every dimension below is a standard starting point; we build to your exact specification for contract and private-label programmes.

A hand-made look with a clean paper trail.
A collected, artisanal shelf should never mean a messy paper trail. Every boho floating shelf ships with FSC chain-of-custody on request, Vriksh timber-legality verification, and EUDR-ready geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence — including CITES-compliant handling where sheesham is used. We provide US Lacey Act declaration support, UK Timber Regulation coverage, and CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant finishes, with social and quality assurance under SEDEX / SMETA, ISO and SGS inspection, and ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing. Because these are solid timber boards rather than veneered panel, they wear gracefully and can be refinished rather than replaced. Boards are kiln-dried to a stable moisture content before the edges are carved or shaped, so they hold their line on the wall. Day to day a boho shelf needs only a dust with a soft dry cloth and an occasional wipe with a barely-damp one — avoid soaking, harsh solvents and standing moisture, which marks any wood. Cane fronts keep their shape best in normally humid rooms and can be lightly vacuumed; brass is wiped with a soft cloth and, if polished rather than lacquered, refreshed occasionally. Reclaimed and live-edge boards are sealed in production to protect the patina. We finish for the destination climate, fit concealed anchors matched to the load, and supply care and fitting guidance your customer can follow.
- Dust with a dry or barely-damp cloth; wipe spills promptly — avoid soaking.
- Keep clear of direct heat and prolonged direct sun to hold colour in natural timber.
- Refresh oiled finishes periodically; limed and lacquered boards need only occasional cleaning.
- Fix into studs or use the supplied anchors and respect the stated load on the shelf.
Boho floating shelf sourcing, answered.
What makes a floating shelf boho?
A boho (bohemian) floating shelf leans on natural materials, hand-work and warm, lived-in detail rather than a flat machined board. Signatures include solid wood with grain you can read, hand-carved or scalloped edges, arched and half-moon silhouettes, woven cane or rattan fronts, reclaimed and live-edge boards, and brass or antiqued-iron brackets. Finishes stay natural, limed or whitewashed rather than high-gloss. It is exactly the carved-wood, cane and metalware craft Jodhpur and its sister clusters have exported for generations, so a boho shelf programme sits naturally on our bench.
What woods and materials do you use for boho floating shelves?
We build boho floating shelves around a genuine solid-wood board — mango, sheesham (Indian rosewood), acacia and reclaimed/old wood — combined with the materials that define the style: woven cane and rattan fronts, brass strips and antiqued-iron brackets, and live-edge boards that keep the natural tree line. Every shelf carries at least one solid-wood component; we do not position as a plywood or panel supplier, so the board is real timber that can be refinished rather than replaced.
Do boho floating shelves come with concealed mounting hardware?
Yes. We supply boho shelves with hidden/floating brackets — a steel rod or blind cleat set into the board so the wall line stays clean and the handcraft leads — as well as exposed brass and antiqued wrought-iron brackets and corbels when the look calls for visible metal. Fixings, wall plugs and fitting instructions are packed in, we match your market's load expectations, and we can private-label the hardware kit.
What sizes do boho floating shelves come in?
Standard lengths run roughly 300–1200 mm, depths 150–250 mm and board thickness 20–40 mm, with arched, half-moon, corner and set-of-three variants that carry the boho look best. These are starting points — length, depth, thickness, edge profile and bracket are all manufactured to your drawing or sample for container and private-label orders.
What finishes suit a boho floating shelf?
Boho favours warm, natural and lived-in finishes — natural matt and oil, honey and walnut stains, limed and whitewashed looks, and hand-distressed or antique patinas — all in CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant formulations. Cane is left natural or lightly toned, brass is polished or antiqued, and reclaimed boards keep their original patina under a protective seal.
What is your minimum order for boho floating shelves?
A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and boho floating shelves consolidate well into a mixed, compliant container alongside other furniture and décor. Flat-pack and knock-down builds raise container density and cut freight per unit.
Sample the wood and finish, then ship from one container up.
Approve the carving, edge, cane and finish on a physical sample, then scale from a trial order to repeat container volumes on a 30–45 day lead time — QC-governed and documented for your market. Compare woods, mounts and other styles on the floating shelves hub, and we'll quote FOB or CIF from Mundra / Nhava Sheva with MOQ, finish options and lead time.
