Why brass for a dining table

The metal that warms a dining room instead of cooling it.

Brass — an alloy of copper and zinc — is the metalware the Moradabad cluster has worked for generations, and it gives a dining table something chrome and painted steel cannot: warmth. Its golden tone reads as classic, slightly glamorous and quietly expensive, equally at home under a heritage chandelier and over a modern restaurant floor. Brass is dense and corrosion-resistant, so a well-made base or clad top lasts decades and takes on a living patina that many buyers specifically want; where you prefer it bright, a clear lacquer holds the shine against the hands, plates and spills a dining surface sees daily. We braze and hand-polish tube and cast bases, sheet-clad tops over a timber core, and pair brass structures with solid-wood, marble or stone tops for a mixed-material look. It is an indoor material by intent — a centrepiece table that anchors a premium dining space. For volume retail and contract we also offer brass-finished steel that keeps the look while easing weight, freight and cost.

Import-ready compliance

Metalware with the paperwork importers expect.

A brass dining table is primarily a metal product, so quality and social assurance lead: every table is produced under ISO quality management with SGS third-party inspection available and SEDEX / SMETA ethical audit of the workplace. Where a table includes solid-wood tops or components, those ship with FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh timber-legality on request and are EUDR-ready, with US Lacey Act declaration support, UK Timber Regulation coverage and CARB / TSCA formaldehyde-compliant finishes. Any timber packaging is ISPM-15 heat-treated. Certificate references go directly to serious buyers — never published. The result is metalware that clears customs as cleanly as it looks in the room.

Care & durability

A table built to outlast several dining sets.

Brass is one of the longest-lived dining materials there is. A lacquered surface needs only a dry, soft cloth and the occasional wipe with a barely damp one to stay bright — wipe spills promptly, since prolonged acid from citrus or wine can mark an unlacquered surface. An unlacquered brass top or base can be left to mellow into a warm patina or brought back to a shine with a proprietary brass polish — never abrasive pads, which scratch the metal. Brazed and welded base joints are reinforced for the span and the top weight and take repeated assembly, which matters for restaurants that reconfigure covers; we can up-gauge the frame for heavy-rotation venues. Keep solid-wood tops out of damp and use coasters and pads under hot dishes; seal marble and stone tops and wipe them with a pH-neutral cleaner. Because brass resists corrosion, the base tolerates the humidity swings of coastal and tropical venues better than painted steel. Full care and finish guidance ships with every order so your retail and hospitality customers get consistent advice.

Questions buyers ask

Brass dining table sourcing, answered.

Are your brass dining tables solid brass or brass-finished?

We build both, and we tell you which you are buying. Solid-brass-clad tops and solid-brass tube or cast bases carry real weight, patinate gracefully and are the heirloom and designer option. Brass-plated or brass-finished steel bases give the same warm look at a lower, more freight-friendly price point for volume retail and hospitality. We also build brass-and-wood and brass-base-with-marble tables that pair a metal structure with a solid-wood or stone top. Specify your tier and we quote accordingly.

Will a brass dining table tarnish, and how is it finished?

Brass develops a living patina that many buyers prize. Where you want it held bright, we apply a clear lacquer that seals the surface so it stays polished with only a dry dust — important on a dining surface that meets hands, plates and spills. Left unlacquered, brass can be returned to a shine with an occasional metal polish. We offer polished, brushed/satin, antique and dark-aged brass finishes, matched to your collection.

What sizes and shapes do you make brass dining tables in?

We build rectangular, round, oval and square tops to international standards — four-, six- and eight-seater rectangulars, plus round tops from roughly 90 to 150 cm for café and designer settings. Top material (solid-wood, marble, stone or solid-brass-clad), base style and finial or leg detail are all specifiable, and we manufacture to your exact drawing for restaurant, hotel and boutique projects.

Are brass dining tables strong enough for restaurant and hospitality use?

Yes. Brass-finished steel and solid-brass bases use welded and reinforced joints engineered for the span and the top weight, and we can up-gauge the frame for heavy-rotation hospitality. Brass-and-wood and brass-with-marble builds combine a welded metal base with a kiln-dried solid-wood or sealed stone top. We size the structure to your top and loading and supply on this basis to restaurant, café and resort projects.

What is your minimum order for brass dining tables?

A trial order can ship LCL so you can assess weight, finish and joinery before committing. For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and we consolidate brass dining tables with matching dining chairs, benches, bar carts and other metalware into a single mixed, compliance-documented container.

Can you make brass dining tables to our own design and brand?

Yes. We work as ODM (our catalogue tables) and OEM (your drawings, top materials, base geometry, finishes and private-label or retail-ready packaging), including bespoke pedestal, trestle and brass-and-marble builds, and a coordinated dining collection of matching chairs, benches and sideboards produced as one range.
