Teak daybeds — weather-proof lounging frames for indoors and out.

A daybed earns its keep as a seat by day and a bed by night — and teak is the one wood that lets it live by a pool, on a veranda or in a sunroom and shrug off the weather. We manufacture solid teak daybeds in Jodhpur — legally sourced, FSC and EUDR-ready, finished to your spec and shipped from a single trial order up to repeat container volumes.

Why teak for a daybed

The one lounging frame you can leave by the pool.

A daybed lives a harder life than most furniture — sat on, lain on, dragged across a deck, and in resort and villa settings, left out under sun and rain. Teak (Tectona grandis) is the wood built for exactly that. Its high natural oil and silica content give it the best weather resistance of any hardwood we work: it resists moisture, swelling, insects and fungal decay without heavy sealing, so an outdoor teak daybed stays sound for decades where softwoods rot and cheaper hardwoods crack. Left to age it weathers to an elegant silver-grey patina — a look designers specify on purpose — and a light oiling brings the warm golden-brown grain straight back. Indoors, that same stability keeps a slatted or solid platform dead-square and silent under daily sitting and sleeping. It is a premium timber, and on a daybed that has to look good and last outdoors, it is the one that earns the premium.

Build options

Slatted platform for drainage and airflow, or a close-slat / solid platform for a mattress indoors. Marine-grade stainless or hot-dip fittings on outdoor frames, carved or turned arms and backs, optional pull-out trundle, and bolsters or loose cushions to your program. Solid teak throughout, or a teak frame with a powder-coated iron base.

Finishes

Natural, left to weather to a silver-grey patina outdoors; teak-oiled for a warm matte golden tone; or sealed matt / satin lacquer indoors — in CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant formulations. Teak needs no heavy sealing, so finish is chosen for appearance and the setting, not to protect the wood.

Packing & shipping

Assembled or knockdown (flat-pack / RTA) with bolt-through fittings to cut freight and breakage. Carton, retail-ready, Amazon-FBA-ready or branded packaging; ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing, FOB or CIF from Mundra / Nhava Sheva.

Import-ready compliance

Care & durability

A frame that asks almost nothing — indoors or out.

Teak is kiln-dried to a stable moisture content before joinery, and its natural oils keep the wood dimensionally calm long after assembly, so the platform stays square and the frame stays silent through years of sitting, sleeping and weather. Outdoors, care is genuinely minimal: an unfinished teak daybed can simply be left to silver, needing only an occasional rinse and a soft brush to lift grime; if you prefer the golden tone, a light teak-oil once or twice a year keeps it. Indoors, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and buff dry — avoid soaking and harsh solvents. Cushions and loose covers should be stored dry when not in use. Bolt-through rail connections let a daybed be dismantled and reassembled across moves without weakening, and any iron elements are powder-coated against scuffing and rust. Full care and finish guidance ships with every order so your retail and hospitality customers get consistent advice.

Questions buyers ask

Teak daybed sourcing, answered.

Can a teak daybed be used outdoors?

Yes — teak is the hardwood built for it. Its high natural oil and silica content resist rain, sun, humidity, insects and fungal decay without heavy sealing, which is why teak is the classic choice for poolside, veranda, terrace and garden daybeds. Left unfinished, outdoor teak weathers gracefully to a silver-grey patina with no loss of strength; oiled, it holds its warm golden tone. We build outdoor daybeds with drainage-friendly slatted platforms, marine-grade or stainless fittings and quick-dry outdoor-cushion specs.

What is the difference between an indoor and an outdoor teak daybed?

The wood and joinery are the same; the detailing differs. Outdoor daybeds use slatted platforms that shed water, stainless or hot-dip fittings that will not rust, gapped construction for airflow, and quick-dry reticulated-foam cushions in solution-dyed outdoor fabric. Indoor daybeds take a solid or close-slat platform, a standard mattress or deep foam, finer finishes and upholstery to match a living room, sunroom or guest room. We quote either, or a design that moves between a covered veranda and a lounge.

What sizes do teak daybeds come in?

Our standard platform suits a single / twin mattress (about 90 × 190–200 cm), with daybed, backless bench-style and three-sided styles available, plus optional pull-out trundle for a second sleeper in guest rooms. For outdoor deep-seat lounging we build oversized platforms sized to your cushion program. Length, depth, arm and back height, bolster count and trundle are all made to your specification.

Does an outdoor teak daybed need maintenance?

Very little. Teak's durability does not depend on any finish, so an outdoor daybed can simply be left to silver and only needs an occasional rinse and a soft brush to keep it clean. If you prefer to preserve the golden colour, a light teak-oil once or twice a year is enough. Indoors, a wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth is all it needs. Cushions and covers should be stored dry. Full care guidance ships with every order.

What is your minimum order for teak daybeds?

A trial or sample daybed can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and we consolidate teak daybeds with matching benches, loungers, coffee tables and other teak pieces into a single mixed container to fill it efficiently.

Can you build teak daybeds to our own design and private label?

Yes. We work as ODM (our catalogue designs) and OEM (your drawings, dimensions, arm and back detailing, finishes, cushion program and private-label or retail-ready packaging), including custom CNC carving, trundle builds and knockdown construction so flat-packed frames ship at far lower freight and breakage.
