Brass bookshelves — warm metal frames with solid-wood shelves.
When a shelving unit needs to read as luxurious, buyers reach for brass. We manufacture brass-framed bookcases, étagères and display units in Jodhpur — solid or brass-finished frames carrying solid-wood, marble or glass shelves, in polished, brushed and antiqued tones. Legally sourced timber, FSC and EUDR-ready, shipped from a trial order up to repeat container volumes.
The metal that makes a shelf look expensive.
Brass is a copper-zinc alloy with a warm, golden lustre that no painted finish truly matches — it is the metal designers specify when a piece has to feel premium rather than merely functional. On a bookshelf that warmth does real work: a slim brass frame reads as jewellery around the books and objects it holds, catching light the way black steel never will. Jodhpur sits beside Moradabad, India's historic brass-working city, so we can draw on genuine metal-craft — spun, cast and hand-polished components — alongside our solid-wood workshops. Brass is naturally corrosion-resistant and holds a polish well; left unlacquered it mellows to a soft antique patina that many interiors prefer. Paired with warm mango or rich sheesham shelves it suits boutique hotels, bars and premium retail; with marble or glass it turns into a bright, contemporary display étagère. It is a decorative, display-led format — chosen for how it looks, and it looks like money well spent.

Legal timber and documented metalware.
A brass bookcase is part metal, part wood — and the wood keeps it inside the timber regulations tightening across your markets. Every order ships with FSC chain-of-custody on request, Vriksh timber-legality verification, and EUDR-ready geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence on the shelves, with US Lacey Act declaration support and UK Timber Regulation coverage. Finishes are CARB / TSCA Title VI compliant, metal and timber work is covered by SEDEX / SMETA ethical and ISO / SGS quality inspection, and every unit ships in ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing. Certificate references go to serious buyers directly — never published.

Keep the gold bright, or let it mellow — your call.
Brass is naturally corrosion-resistant, so a brass-framed bookcase is undemanding indoors. If the frame is lacquered, simply dust it and wipe with a soft dry cloth; the lacquer holds the bright polished tone and resists tarnish, so avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the coating. If you specify unlacquered brass, it will slowly mellow to a warm antique patina — a look many interiors prefer — and can be brought back to a shine with a proprietary brass polish whenever you choose. Powder-coated steel frames simply wipe clean. Solid-wood shelves are kiln-dried for stability and finished to your brief; keep the unit indoors and out of standing damp. Taller étagères ship with levelling feet and wall-anchor plates for safety. Full care and finish guidance ships with every order so your retail and hospitality customers get consistent advice.
Brass bookshelf sourcing, answered.
Is the frame solid brass or brass-finished metal?
We supply both, and we label them honestly. Solid brass and brass-plated steel tube give a genuine warm, golden metal for premium display étagères; where a budget or a larger span calls for it, we use steel with an antique-brass or brushed-brass powder-coat that reads identically on a shelf but costs less and carries more weight. We confirm exactly which on your sample and specification.
Does brass tarnish, and how is it finished?
Uncoated brass naturally develops a warm patina over time, which many designers prize. If you want it to stay bright, we apply a protective lacquer that locks in the polished gold tone and prevents tarnish. We offer polished, brushed/satin, and antiqued/aged brass finishes — specify the look and we finish to match across the whole order.
What woods pair with the brass frame?
Shelves are made in solid mango, sheesham, acacia, teak or reclaimed wood, plus marble or glass shelf options for a lighter, more decorative étagère. Warm mango and rich sheesham are the popular pairings with polished brass; pale acacia and marble suit a brighter, more contemporary look. We match wood tone to the brass finish on a signed-off sample.
Are brass bookshelves suitable for hospitality and retail display?
Yes. Brass-framed étagères and display shelves are a core line for boutique hotels, bars, reception areas and premium retail, where the warm metal reads as luxurious. They are display-and-light-storage pieces rather than heavy-load library shelving; for heavier runs we specify thicker shelves or steel cores under the brass finish.
What is your minimum order for brass bookshelves?
A trial or sample order can ship LCL. For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and we consolidate brass bookshelves with brass console tables, mirrors, bar carts and décor into a single mixed container.
Can you make brass bookshelves to our own design and brand?
Yes. We work as ODM from our catalogue and as OEM to your drawings — your dimensions, frame profile, brass finish, shelf material and private-label or retail-ready packaging, including bespoke metalwork from our Moradabad-style brass cluster.
Approve a sample, then ship from one container up.
Sign off the brass finish, shelf material and tone on a physical sample, then scale from a trial order to repeat container volumes on a 30–45 day lead time — QC-governed and documented for your market. Read the full metal profile on the brass material guide, or compare formats and finishes on the bookshelves hub.
