Rosewood bar cabinets — solid Dalbergia storage, carved for the show floor.

A rosewood bar cabinet is the room's anchor: deep, dark figured grain, a dense heartwood carcass and the heft of a true hardwood. We manufacture it in Jodhpur from solid Dalbergia — CITES-compliant, Vriksh-verified and FSC chain-of-custody — so buyers get heirloom-grade bar storage with the paperwork to clear any port.

What a rosewood bar cabinet is

Dense Dalbergia heartwood, built into bar storage that shows.

"Rosewood" is the trade name for timbers of the Dalbergia genus. In India's furniture export belt, a rosewood bar cabinet is most often built in Dalbergia sissoo — known locally as sheesham and sold worldwide as Indian rosewood — or the denser, darker Dalbergia latifolia (East Indian rosewood). The heartwood runs from golden brown to deep chocolate and purple, streaked with near-black lines, and its natural oils resist wear and insects. On a bar cabinet — a piece that is opened, loaded, wiped down and leaned on daily — that density is the whole point: carved doors, slim mullions, bottle dividers and overhead glass racks stay crisp and tight where softer woods would dent, swell or loosen.

Why rosewood, on a bar cabinet specifically

The properties that matter when storage carries weight and liquid.

Hardness & carcass life

Among the hardest furniture hardwoods — around 2,400 lbf (D. latifolia) and 1,660 lbf (sheesham) on the Janka scale. Mortise-and-tenon carcass joints and dovetailed drawers bite and hold, so a cabinet full of bottles and glassware stays square under daily use.

Carving & show doors

Rosewood holds fine hand- and CNC-carved relief, fluting and jali fretwork without chipping — which is why carved and latticed bar-cabinet doors read as premium on a retail floor or behind a hotel bar.

Grain that sells

Deep, dark, figured grain photographs beautifully and anchors a room. On exposed doors and the top it is the cabinet's main selling feature — no veneer or paint needed to make it look expensive.

Stability for glass & bottles

Dense, well-seasoned rosewood moves little with humidity, so stemware grooves, bottle dividers and glazed or mirror-backed doors stay true — important when a cabinet travels from a dry factory to a humid coastal bar.

Longevity & oils

Natural oils aid wear and insect resistance, giving heirloom-grade bar storage suited to residential statement pieces and contract use that must survive years of service and turnover.

Honest weight

Rosewood is heavy — a quality cue buyers can feel. Where freight or handling matters, we trim weight with lighter companion woods, a cane front or a knockdown / flat-pack build without losing the look.

Styles we build in rosewood

From a carved drinks cabinet to a mirror-backed bar unit.

Every cabinet starts from a solid rosewood heart and is finished to your market. Mix styles, finishes and interior fit-outs freely within one container.

Carved & jali-door drinks cabinets

Saharanpur-style hand-carved and CNC-detailed show-wood doors with jali fretwork — the figured grain and relief work are the piece, ideal for statement living rooms and boutique hotels.

Tall bar & drinks cabinets

Full-height units with upper glazed display, stemware racks and lower bottle storage behind solid rosewood doors — the room's anchor piece.

Sideboard-style bar cabinets

Low, long credenza-format drinks storage to match rosewood sideboards and dining, with wine dividers and felt-lined drawers.

Rosewood & iron industrial

Rosewood carcass and doors on a wrought-iron frame for a robust industrial look that holds up on café and bar floors.

Cane, brass & inlay fronts

Hand-woven cane door panels, brass detailing or bone / mother-of-pearl inlay set into carved rosewood — the dark grain played against lighter craft.

Your design (OEM)

We manufacture to your drawings, dimensions, carving, interior layout and finish under your brand, alongside our own catalogue (ODM), with custom CNC work.

Legality & the compliance edge

Rosewood is controlled. We ship it by the book.

Because Dalbergia is listed on CITES Appendix II, a rosewood bar cabinet only crosses borders cleanly with the right legality trail. We source and ship Dalbergia sissoo (sheesham) on a CITES-compliant basis, verified under Vriksh and held under FSC chain-of-custody, with EUDR-ready geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence built in. We support US Lacey Act declarations and UK Timber Regulation, finish to CARB / TSCA Title VI norms, and heat-treat export packing to ISPM-15 — documented per shipment, verifiable, and shared with serious buyers on request.

Care & longevity

Made to carry a decade of bottles, glass and daily use.

Rosewood carcasses are kiln-dried and mortise-and-tenon joined, with dovetailed drawers, to survive ocean freight and changing climates. Keep the cabinet out of prolonged direct sun to preserve its colour, wipe spills promptly, dust with a dry or barely damp cloth, and re-oil or wax the show wood periodically to refresh the grain; avoid harsh solvents on the finish. Glazed and mirror doors clean with a standard glass cleaner off the wood, cane fronts prefer a light vacuum and stable humidity, and brass or inlay detailing is maintained to its own care note. We provide care and assembly guidance with every order, and fit, finish, door swing and joint integrity are QC-checked before any cabinet leaves the factory.

Common questions

Rosewood bar cabinet sourcing, answered.

What wood is a rosewood bar cabinet made from?

The carcass, doors and show-wood frame are solid Dalbergia heartwood. In India's export trade, rosewood most often means Dalbergia sissoo — known locally as sheesham and sold worldwide as Indian rosewood — or the denser, darker Dalbergia latifolia (East Indian rosewood). Both give a cabinet deep brown-to-purple figured grain streaked with near-black lines, natural oils that resist wear, and the density that keeps carved doors, slim mullions and glass racks crisp for decades.

Are rosewood bar cabinets strong enough for hotel, restaurant and bar use?

Yes. Rosewood is one of the hardest furniture hardwoods — Indian rosewood (Dalbergia latifolia) rates around 2,400 lbf on the Janka scale and sheesham (Dalbergia sissoo) around 1,660 lbf, both well above oak. That density, combined with mortise-and-tenon carcass joinery and dovetailed drawers, lets a loaded bar cabinet carry bottles, glassware and daily door swing on a commercial floor without sagging or racking.

Is a rosewood bar cabinet CITES-controlled, and can you export it legally?

Yes. Dalbergia species are listed on CITES Appendix II, so rosewood furniture must ship with proper legality paperwork. We handle Dalbergia sissoo (sheesham) on a CITES-compliant basis, backed by Vriksh timber-legality verification and FSC chain-of-custody, and we are EUDR-ready with geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence, plus US Lacey Act and UK Timber Regulation support.

Can you make rosewood bar cabinets to our own design or private label?

Yes. We build as both ODM (our catalogue designs) and OEM — to your drawings, dimensions, carving, interior layout, finish and hardware — with custom CNC work and retail-ready, Amazon-FBA-ready or branded gift packaging under your label. Bespoke sizing for hospitality fit-outs is routine.

What is your minimum order for rosewood bar cabinets?

A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container) so you can approve the wood, finish and build first. For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and rosewood bar cabinets consolidate with sideboards, dining pieces and décor into a single mixed container. Typical lead time is 30–45 days, quoted FOB or CIF from Mundra or Nhava Sheva.

Can rosewood bar cabinets ship flat-pack to save freight?

Where the design allows, we build knockdown / flat-pack (RTA) rosewood bar cabinets with bolt-on legs and removable backs to cut freight cost and transit breakage and to raise container density — useful for large importers and online sellers. Because rosewood is heavy, flat-pack also eases handling. Fully assembled builds are available where the buyer or design prefers.
