What a vintage wardrobe is

The antique armoire look — built from real solid wood, with age you can trust.

Vintage is a perennial seller across Western and Gulf bedroom retail: panelled or carved doors, an aged and distressed surface, a hand-rubbed patina, antique-brass or forged-iron fittings, and turned or bracket feet. The style only convinces when the piece is heavy, warm and honestly joined — a vintage look on thin board reads as a reproduction the moment a customer opens the door. We build every vintage wardrobe on a solid-wood body in sheesham, mango or reclaimed wood, with reclaimed/old-wood lines carrying genuine age straight from the timber. We do not position as a plywood or flat-panel supplier; the vintage character here is cut from solid timber and finished by hand.

Materials & construction

Solid sheesham, mango and reclaimed/old wood, with optional wrought-iron accents and antique-brass or forged-iron hardware. Framed and carved-panel doors, dovetailed drawers, hanging rails, adjustable shelving, and turned, bracket or bun feet.

Finishes that define the style

Antique walnut, dark honey and colonial brown stains; weathered grey and worn-paint distress; natural matt wax and hand-rubbed patina that deepens with age. All stains and lacquers are CARB / TSCA formaldehyde-compliant.

Antique-finish hardwood wardrobes clear customs — because the timber and the finish are both documented.

Vintage wardrobes raise two border questions at once: the legality of the timber — including reclaimed and old wood — and the chemistry of the aged finish. We answer both. Our sheesham is CITES-compliant and Vriksh-verified, our chain-of-custody is FSC-documented, our reclaimed lines carry a deforestation-free story, and our due diligence is EUDR-ready with geolocation. Antique stains, distress and lacquers use CARB / TSCA formaldehyde-compliant chemistry, and we support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation and ISPM-15 heat-treated packing — so your container moves while others wait at the port.

Care & finish

Aged finishes that look old on purpose — and hold up in the home.

Vintage finishes are sealed with CARB / TSCA-compliant stains, waxes and lacquers, and the solid-wood bodies are seasoned to reduce movement in transit and in air-conditioned climates. Distressed and patina surfaces wipe clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth — avoid abrasive cleaners, direct heat and standing moisture; waxed and oiled tones can be refreshed periodically to deepen the patina. The aging, distress and hand-rubbed character is applied by hand and reclaimed-wood pieces carry their own natural marks, so each wardrobe is subtly unique; we lock the exact stain, sheen and distress level on the approved sample before production, and flat-pack units arrive with fittings and clear assembly instructions.

Vintage wardrobe sourcing questions

What buyers ask before ordering vintage wardrobes.

What makes a wardrobe a vintage wardrobe?

A vintage wardrobe reproduces the look of an antique armoire: solid-wood construction, panelled or carved doors, aged and distressed finishes, hand-rubbed patina, antique-brass or forged-iron hardware, and turned or bracket feet. We build the look in genuine sheesham, mango and reclaimed/old wood — not panel board — so the character and weight read as authentically old and survive a long retail life.

Which woods and finishes give the best vintage look?

Reclaimed/old wood carries real age, saw marks and nail holes straight from the timber, so it reads as genuinely vintage out of the box. Sheesham offers a dense, dark grain for rich antique-stain and colonial looks, and mango takes distressed, two-tone and worn-paint finishes well. Popular finishes are antique walnut, dark honey, weathered grey, hand-distressed paint and a waxed patina that deepens with age.

Do vintage wardrobes ship assembled or flat-pack?

Both. We produce fully assembled vintage wardrobes and armoires, and knockdown / flat-pack (RTA) versions. Flat-pack lowers freight cost and breakage and raises container density, which is why most importers and online sellers choose it for larger two and three-door vintage pieces; statement carved armoires usually ship assembled.

What is your minimum order for vintage wardrobes?

A trial or sample piece can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load (FCL) is our standard minimum. Vintage wardrobes can be mixed with beds, dressers, trunks, dining and décor in a single consolidated container.

Can you build vintage wardrobes to our own design or private label?

Yes. We work as both ODM (our catalogue designs) and OEM — we manufacture to your drawings, dimensions, carving detail, stain or distress level, and private-label or retail-ready packaging, including custom CNC carving and bespoke sizing for your market.

Are your vintage wardrobes compliant for import into the US and EU?

Yes. We document FSC chain-of-custody, Vriksh timber-legality and CITES-compliant sheesham, are EUDR-ready with geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence, and support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation, CARB/TSCA formaldehyde-compliant stains and lacquers, and ISPM-15 export packing.
