What a farmhouse wardrobe is

The rustic, lived-in look — in genuine solid wood, not painted panel board.

Farmhouse is one of the most durable styles in Western bedroom retail: framed or shaker-panel doors, visible grain or a soft chalky paint, simple iron and antique-brass hardware, and tapered or turned bun feet. The style only works when the wood is real — buyers and their customers expect weight, warmth and honest joinery. We build every farmhouse wardrobe on a solid-wood body in sheesham, mango, acacia or reclaimed wood, so the character is authentic and holds up on the shop floor and in a long sea voyage. We do not position as a plywood or flat-panel supplier; the farmhouse look here is cut from solid timber.

Materials & construction

Solid sheesham, mango, acacia and reclaimed wood, with optional wrought-iron accents and antique-brass or forged-iron hardware. Framed and shaker-panel doors, dovetailed drawers, hanging rails, adjustable shelving and tapered or bun feet.

Finishes that define the style

Antique white, soft grey, sage and cream chalky paints; natural matt wax and oiled tones; distressed and two-tone looks with a natural wood top over a painted body. All paints and lacquers are CARB / TSCA formaldehyde-compliant.

Where it sells

Rustic and modern-farmhouse retail collections, boutique hotels, B&Bs, serviced apartments, interior-design projects and online marketplaces — flat-pack versions tuned for Amazon-FBA-ready and parcel-carrier delivery.

Compliance built in

Painted hardwood wardrobes clear customs — because the paperwork and the paint are both compliant.

Farmhouse wardrobes raise two border questions at once: the legality of the timber, and the chemistry of the finish. We answer both. Our sheesham is CITES-compliant and Vriksh-verified, our chain-of-custody is FSC-documented, and our due diligence is EUDR-ready with geolocation. Painted and distressed finishes use CARB / TSCA formaldehyde-compliant paints and lacquers, and we support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation and ISPM-15 heat-treated packing — so your container moves while others wait at the port.

Care & finish

Painted and distressed finishes that hold up on the floor and in the home.

Farmhouse finishes are sealed with CARB / TSCA-compliant paints, waxes and lacquers, and the solid-wood bodies are seasoned to reduce movement in transit and in air-conditioned climates. Painted surfaces wipe clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth — avoid abrasive cleaners, direct heat and standing moisture; oiled and waxed tones can be refreshed periodically. The two-tone and distressed character is applied by hand, so each piece carries subtle variation; we lock the exact paint colour, sheen and distress level on the approved sample before production, and flat-pack units arrive with fittings and clear assembly instructions.

Farmhouse wardrobe sourcing questions

What buyers ask before ordering farmhouse wardrobes.

What makes a wardrobe a farmhouse wardrobe?

Farmhouse wardrobes read as rustic and lived-in: solid-wood construction, framed or panelled doors, visible grain or a soft painted finish, simple iron or antique-brass hardware, and tapered or bun feet. We build the look in genuine sheesham, mango, acacia and reclaimed wood — not panel board — so the rustic character is real and survives a long retail life.

Which woods and finishes suit the farmhouse style best?

Mango and acacia take chalky painted, two-tone and lightly distressed finishes beautifully, reclaimed/old wood gives authentic weathered character out of the box, and sheesham offers a richer grain for a warmer rustic look. Popular finishes are antique white, soft grey, natural matt wax and distressed two-tone with a wood top over a painted body.

Do farmhouse wardrobes ship assembled or flat-pack?

Both. We produce fully assembled farmhouse wardrobes and knockdown / flat-pack (RTA) versions. Flat-pack lowers freight cost and breakage and raises container density, which is why most importers and online sellers choose it for larger two and three-door farmhouse pieces.

What is your minimum order for farmhouse wardrobes?

A trial or sample piece can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load (FCL) is our standard minimum. Farmhouse wardrobes can be mixed with beds, dressers, dining and décor in a single consolidated container.

Can you build farmhouse wardrobes to our own design or private label?

Yes. We work as both ODM (our catalogue designs) and OEM — we manufacture to your drawings, dimensions, paint colours, distress level and private-label or retail-ready packaging, including custom CNC detailing and bespoke sizing for your market.

Are your farmhouse wardrobes compliant for import into the US and EU?

Yes. We document FSC chain-of-custody, Vriksh timber-legality and CITES-compliant sheesham, are EUDR-ready with geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence, and support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation, CARB/TSCA formaldehyde-compliant paints and finishes, and ISPM-15 export packing.
