Coastal wardrobes — light woods, cane doors and an airy beach-house calm.
The coastal wardrobe is the bright, unforced anchor of a beach-house bedroom: a whitewash or driftwood-tone armoire, often with hand-woven cane or slatted doors that let the hanging space breathe. We manufacture coastal wardrobes in Jodhpur in solid mango and acacia with optional real cane — built as bolt-together knockdown for low freight, legally sourced, and supplied from a single trial order up to repeat container volumes.
Bright, breezy and built to reorder.
Coastal is the look buyers reach for when a bedroom needs to feel light and calm — a beach house in Sydney, a Hamptons rental, a resort room that has to photograph fresh. On a wardrobe the style does real work: cane or louvred doors let air move through the hanging space, while whitewash and pale driftwood tones keep a large piece from darkening the room. The language is airy — clean lines, a soft matte finish that reads sun-bleached rather than glossy, and natural woven texture rather than heavy carving. It is a close cousin of coastal's relaxed neighbours, boho and Scandinavian, but keeps its own bright, weathered palette. Because a wardrobe is a bedroom's signature storage piece, it is a steady, broad-appeal anchor for retailers and online sellers in coastal markets, and a natural fit for resort and boutique-rental fit-outs.

Coastal wardrobes are solid-wood goods, often with natural cane, which puts them inside the timber regulations tightening across your markets — so we built the documentation around them. Every coastal wardrobe ships with FSC chain-of-custody on request, Vriksh timber-legality verification, and EUDR-ready geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence. We provide US Lacey Act declaration support, UK Timber Regulation coverage, and CARB / TSCA formaldehyde-compliant finishes, with social and quality assurance under SEDEX / SMETA, ISO and SGS inspection, and ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing. Light looks, solid build.
Coastal wardrobes are kiln-dried to stable moisture levels before joinery, so the carcass, doors and hanging rail hold firm under daily use and rental turnover. Whitewash and pale matte finishes are forgiving and easy to live with: dust with a soft dry cloth, wipe spills promptly, and avoid soaking and harsh solvents. Where cane is used in the doors, dust it with a soft brush and keep humidity reasonable so the weave stays supple; cane also keeps the hanging space ventilated, which helps garments stay fresh. For genuinely humid or salt-air rooms we recommend a sealed finish or a move to teak, which we can specify at quote. The bolt-together design lets a tall wardrobe be carried in flat and assembled on site, then dismantled again for moves without stressing the frame. Full care and finish guidance ships with every order so your retail and rental customers maintain the piece correctly.
Coastal wardrobe sourcing, answered.
What is a coastal-style wardrobe?
A coastal wardrobe is a light, breezy armoire in whitewashed or pale driftwood-tone wood, usually with cane or slatted doors, clean lines and a soft matte finish. The palette is bright and sun-bleached rather than dark, and the cane or louvred fronts let air move through the hanging space. We build the carcass in solid mango or acacia and hand-weave real cane into the doors where the brief calls for it.
Which woods and finishes suit coastal wardrobes?
We build coastal wardrobes in solid mango and acacia finished in whitewash, soft driftwood grey or pale natural tones, frequently paired with hand-woven cane doors. All finishes are CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant, and every species is legally sourced with FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh timber-legality documentation available on request.
Do coastal wardrobes ship flat-packed?
Yes. Wardrobes are large, so we engineer them as bolt-together knockdown units — the top, sides, back, doors, shelves and hanging rail pack flat into dense cartons that cut freight cost and breakage dramatically. This suits importers and online sellers; assembled builds are available for boutique and resort orders.
Do coastal wardrobes use real cane or louvred doors?
Both are available. We hand-weave natural cane (rattan) into solid-wood door frames for the breezy coastal look, or build slatted and louvred timber doors for a cleaner line and extra airflow. Plain whitewashed plank doors and mirror-front options are also made to your specification.
What interior configurations can you build?
Coastal wardrobes are built to your layout: hanging rail with top shelf, part-hang with shelving, internal drawers, shoe racks and adjustable shelves. One-, two- and three-door formats are standard, and we make freestanding armoires as well as fitted-look modular runs to your drawings under OEM.
What is your minimum order for coastal wardrobes?
A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and we consolidate coastal wardrobes with matching beds, nightstands, dressers and other categories into a single mixed container.
Approve the whitewash, doors and layout, then ship from one container up.
Sign off the finish tone, cane or louvred door and interior layout on a physical sample, then scale from a trial order to repeat container volumes on a 30–45 day lead time — QC-governed and documented for your market. Compare formats on the wardrobes hub, read the properties of the wood on our mango wood page, or browse the full furniture range.
