Wrought iron side tables — hand-forged bases for bedside, sofa and contract use.

Jodhpur is as well known for its iron forges as its solid wood, and we build on both. Our wrought iron side tables pair a hand-forged, powder-coated steel base with your choice of solid-wood, marble or glass top — slim enough to tuck beside a bed or armchair, rigid under a stone slab, and shipped knocked-down from a single trial order up to repeat container volumes.

Why wrought iron for a side table

A slim base that still carries stone — and never wobbles.

A side table earns its place in the gaps of a room: beside a bed, next to an armchair, at the end of a sofa, between two seats in a café. The buyer wants it small in footprint but sure on its feet, and that is exactly where wrought iron beats a timber leg. Mild steel bar stock, heated and hand-worked at the forge, gives a slim profile real rigidity — so a narrow frame carries a thick marble or solid-wood top that would overload a slender wooden leg, and the table stays dead level on tile, timber or carpet. Iron is heavy for its size, so a bedside or sofa-side table stays planted when a guest leans on it. Because the base is metal, it will not swell, crack or dry out across climates — all seasonal movement sits in the wooden top. Forged, welded, ground smooth and powder-coated, it reads as industrial, modern or ornate depending on how it is drawn, and it survives years of being nudged, lifted and relocated.

Sizes & build options

Shapes, heights and tops — matched to the seat beside them.

Set a bedside or sofa-side table level with or just above the mattress top or sofa arm — roughly 22–26 in (56–66 cm) suits most ranges — while C-tables run taller and narrower to slide under an arm. Every dimension below is a standard starting point; we build iron bases to your exact footprint, height and top for contract and retail projects.

Base options

C-shape, hairpin, cross-leg, geometric, scrolled, cage and trestle frames in forged flat bar or tube. Levelling glides on every foot; optional under-shelf rails and magazine racks for metal-and-wood builds; pairs and nesting sets held consistent.

Tops & finishes

Solid mango, sheesham, acacia, teak or reclaimed wood; marble and natural-stone slabs; toughened glass. Iron in powder coat, antique patina or waxed raw finish — all CARB / TSCA Title VI compliant.

Packing & shipping

Bases ship knocked-down and nest tight; tops are corner-protected and foam-wrapped. Carton, retail-ready, Amazon-FBA-ready or branded packaging. ISPM-15 heat-treated wood packing, FOB or CIF from Mundra / Nhava Sheva.

Import-ready compliance

Metal base, wooden top — documented for both.

An iron-and-wood side table has to satisfy timber rules and metal-finish rules at once, so we document both. The wooden tops ship with FSC chain-of-custody on request, Vriksh timber-legality verification, and EUDR-ready geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence; we provide US Lacey Act declaration support and UK Timber Regulation coverage. Powder coats and lacquers are CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant, with social and quality assurance under SEDEX / SMETA, ISO and SGS inspection, and ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing for the wood components. Certificate references go directly to serious buyers — never published.

Care & durability

Finishes that survive a hotel room and a retail floor.

Powder-coated iron needs only a wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth; it resists scuffing, moisture and daily use, and small chips can be touched up with matched enamel. Waxed raw-iron finishes carry a deliberate aged look and can be re-waxed once or twice a year to deepen the patina and hold back surface rust. For covered-outdoor settings we galvanise or zinc-prime beneath the coat, so the base shrugs off damp balcony air; fully exposed coastal sites get a marine-grade finish and occasional touch-up. Welds are ground smooth so there are no sharp edges near a bedside, and levelling glides protect floors and let staff true the table on uneven tiling. Wooden tops take the usual care for their species, and marble tops should be sealed and blotted of spills. Full care and finish guidance ships with every order so your retail and hospitality customers get consistent advice.

Questions buyers ask

Wrought iron side table sourcing, answered.

What tops do you pair with wrought iron side table bases?

We build the base to carry solid mango, sheesham, acacia, teak or reclaimed-wood tops, marble and natural-stone slabs, or toughened glass. Wood and stone are bolted from underneath to a welded cleat frame so the top sits flush and will not shift; glass rests on levelled pads. You choose the top material, thickness and edge profile, and we match the base to it.

Are wrought iron side tables suitable for outdoor or balcony use?

Yes, when specified for it. For covered balconies, terraces and indoor-outdoor cafés we hot-dip galvanise or zinc-prime the steel before a UV-stable powder coat, which seals the metal against moisture and rust. For fully exposed coastal or poolside settings we recommend a marine-grade finish and periodic touch-up. Indoor tables use a standard powder coat or an aged, waxed raw-iron finish.

Can wrought iron side tables be supplied as matching pairs or nesting sets?

Yes. Side tables are most often sold in twos for either side of a bed or sofa, and as graduated nesting sets of two or three. We hold base geometry, finish and top consistent across a pair or set so they read as one family on the shelf or in a hotel room, and we can run them as a standalone SKU or as the companion to a sofa or bed range.

What heights do you build so the table matches a sofa arm or bed?

A bedside or sofa-side table usually works best level with or just above the mattress top or sofa arm — roughly 22–26 in (56–66 cm). C-tables that slide under a sofa arm run taller and narrower. Every height on this page is a standard starting point; we build iron bases to your exact height, footprint and top for contract and retail projects.

What is your minimum order for wrought iron side tables?

A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum. Iron bases ship knocked-down and nest tightly, so we consolidate side tables with coffee tables, console tables, nightstands and décor into one mixed container.

Can you manufacture to our drawings and private-label packaging?

Yes. We work as ODM from our catalogue and as OEM from your CAD drawings, dimensions, finish and top spec, including custom scrollwork, hairpin, C-shape and geometric bases produced on our forging and welding lines. We supply retail-ready, Amazon-FBA-ready and branded packaging with your labels and barcodes.
