What it is

Not a printed rustic finish — genuine old wood, re-milled into a shelf.

A reclaimed wood floating shelf is cut from timber that has already lived one life — salvaged beams, old planks, railway stock and dismantled furniture, mostly aged sheesham, teak and other Indian hardwoods. We de-nail, kiln-dry, clean and re-mill each board so it is straight, stable and safe to hang, while keeping the saw marks, bolt holes, nail shadows and deep colour that only decades of use create. The result is a shelf with authentic character that a fresh board or a factory-aged veneer simply cannot fake.

Why buyers choose reclaimed

The look, the story and the easiest timber to clear.

A sustainability story that sells

Reclaimed wood is a genuine circular-economy product — no new tree felled, waste timber given a second life. It is the narrative retail and e-commerce buyers put on the product page, and it commands a premium over new-wood equivalents.

Character you can't manufacture

Old-growth density, tight weathered grain, original patina and honest marks give every shelf a one-of-a-kind face. For boutique, boho, farmhouse and industrial ranges, that authenticity is the whole value proposition.

Deforestation-free by nature

Because the timber is salvaged rather than newly harvested, reclaimed lines sit on the right side of EUDR, Lacey and UKTR from the start — among the simplest wood categories to document and clear at port.

Finishes & mounting

Keep the patina, or dial it to your range.

Natural oil & wax

A low-sheen finish that deepens the reclaimed colour and lets every mark show — the honest, tactile look for farmhouse and organic-modern ranges.

Whitewash & distressed

Lime-wash, grey-wash and lightly distressed finishes for coastal, Scandinavian and boho programs — all with CARB / TSCA-compliant low-formaldehyde coatings.

Concealed floating bracket

A hidden steel rod or blind cleat set into the thicker reclaimed board gives a clean, bracket-free wall line — fixings and instructions packed in.

Wood & iron industrial

Pair the reclaimed board with a wrought-iron pipe or L-bracket, powder-coated or raw, for the loft look that defines the category.

Reclaimed boards run thicker and heavier than new timber, so we match the fixing and bracket to the load and to your market's expectations, and can private-label the hardware kit. Care & longevity

Already proven by decades — and ready for decades more.

Reclaimed hardwood has already done most of its moving and settling, which makes it exceptionally stable once re-milled and finished. Because it is solid timber, it wears gracefully and can be re-oiled or refinished rather than replaced — reinforcing the sustainability promise all the way through its life.

  • Dust with a dry or barely-damp cloth; wipe spills promptly and avoid soaking the grain.
  • Keep clear of direct heat and prolonged sun to limit movement in natural timber.
  • Refresh oiled and waxed finishes periodically; lacquered boards need only occasional cleaning.
  • Fix into studs or use the supplied anchors and respect the stated load on each shelf.

Questions buyers ask

Reclaimed wood floating shelves — the detail that matters for import.

What wood is actually used in a reclaimed wood floating shelf?

Our reclaimed floating shelves are cut from genuine old wood — salvaged beams, planks and timbers reclaimed from dismantled buildings, railway stock and old furniture, mostly aged sheesham, teak and other Indian hardwoods. We kiln-dry, de-nail, clean and re-mill every board, so you get real decades-old grain and patina, not a factory-printed imitation. Each lot is documented for timber legality and chain-of-custody.

Will the colour and grain match across a container order?

Reclaimed wood is naturally varied — that is the look buyers pay for — so no two boards are identical. We grade and batch boards to a tonal range you approve from a sample, so the shelves read as one cohesive family on a shelf or site without pretending to be uniform factory stock. Tell us whether you want tight matching or deliberate rustic variation and we grade to it.

What is the minimum order for reclaimed wood floating shelves?

A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and reclaimed shelves consolidate well with other furniture and décor in a mixed container. Flat-pack and knock-down construction raises container density and lowers freight per unit.

Do the shelves include concealed mounting hardware?

Yes. We supply hidden/floating brackets — a steel rod or blind cleat set into the back of the board so no fixing shows — as well as exposed wrought-iron pipe and L-bracket styles for the industrial look. Fixings, wall plugs and fitting instructions are packed in, and we can match your market's load expectations and private-label the hardware kit.

Are reclaimed wood shelves compliant for import into the US and EU?

Yes. Reclaimed timber is among the easiest categories to clear because it is deforestation-free by nature, and we still document FSC chain-of-custody, Vriksh timber-legality and EUDR-ready geolocation and due diligence. We support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation, CARB / TSCA-compliant finishes and ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing.

Can you make reclaimed shelves to our own sizes, finish and brand?

Yes. We work as ODM (our ready designs) and OEM — length, depth, thickness, edge profile, bracket and finish are all made to your drawing or sample. That includes custom stains to your reference, your logo on product or packaging, and retail-ready, branded or Amazon-FBA-ready boxes.
