Wrought iron dining tables — hand-forged bases, built for export.
Jodhpur's iron forges are as old as its woodworkshops, and the wrought iron dining table is where that heritage shows. We hand-forge scrolled, tapered and hammered iron bases, then top them with solid wood, toughened glass, marble or stone — the traditional, Tuscan, French-country and garden-to-table looks buyers ask for, built to contract strength and shipped flat from a single trial order up to repeat container volumes.
Ornamental where you see it, structural where it counts.
Wrought iron earns its place at the dining table in two ways at once. Structurally, iron is drawn and welded into a slim, rigid frame that carries a long, heavy top flat — without sag, racking or the bulky timber apron that steals legroom — and it stays dimensionally inert through heat and humidity, so any seasonal movement lives only in a wooden top. Decoratively, because wrought iron is worked hot by hand — bent, scrolled, tapered, twisted and hammered at the forge — it carries the ornamental character that plain steel tube and cast iron cannot: the curling scrollwork, acanthus leaves, basket twists and aged patinas that read as traditional, Tuscan, French-country, colonial and garden style. That is why the wrought iron dining table sells across so many rooms, from a grand farmhouse table under a solid-wood top to a bistro base under glass or a marble-topped terrace table. And because the top unbolts from the base, the whole table ships flat and knocked-down for dense, low-breakage freight. Strong where it needs to be, beautiful where it is seen, and economical in a container.
What a wrought iron build brings to the table.
| Attribute | Wrought iron dining table characteristic |
|---|---|
| Base construction | Hand-forged mild steel — drawn, scrolled and hammered, then MIG/TIG-welded into a rigid frame |
| Top options | Solid wood (mango, sheesham, acacia, teak, reclaimed), toughened glass, or marble / stone |
| Decorative range | Scrollwork, acanthus, basket-twist, cage and pedestal forms for traditional, Tuscan and French-country looks |
| Span & load | Very high — the iron frame carries long slabs and heavy stone tops flat; bracing tuned to top size |
| Stability | Welded base stays square and will not wobble under leaning or banquet service |
| Iron finish | Powder coat (matte/satin, RAL), antique/aged-bronze/hammered patina, gold-leaf highlight, or waxed raw iron |
| Indoor / outdoor | Rust-inhibiting primer + exterior-grade powder coat makes patio and garden-to-table builds possible |
| Repairability | Iron chips touch up with matched enamel; wooden tops sand and re-oil; patinas can be re-waxed |
| Shipping | Base knocks down, top packs flat — dense container loading, lower freight and breakage |
Scroll detail, weld quality, patina depth and top grain vary with the forge work and species, so we recommend approving a physical table before production. Request a wrought iron dining table sample and we will send iron, finish and top references for your range. For the material profile and pairing options, see the wrought iron material guide.

Built for the channels that move decorative dining.
The wrought iron dining table is a broad-appeal line because the ironwork reads across styles and settings. Independent and chain retailers anchor traditional, Tuscan, French-country and garden ranges on it; online sellers like the flat-pack, knock-down economics and FBA-ready packing; restaurants, cafés, wineries, hotels and resort terraces specify it for the contract-grade build and indoor-outdoor finishes; and interior designers order bespoke scroll patterns, footprints and tops for residential, villa and hospitality fit-outs. We supply all of them from the same forge and wood lines, with consistent QC and documentation shipment to shipment.

Hospitality & contract furnitureIron base and wooden top — documented for both.
A wrought iron dining table with a wooden top has to satisfy timber rules and metal-finish rules at once, so we document both. Solid-wood tops ship with FSC chain-of-custody on request, Vriksh timber-legality verification, CITES-compliant handling of sheesham, and EUDR-ready geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence; we provide US Lacey Act declaration support and UK Timber Regulation coverage. The iron finishes — powder coats and lacquers — and any wood top coats are CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant for safe use on an eating surface, with social and quality assurance under SEDEX / SMETA, ISO and SGS inspection, and ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing for the wood components. Glass, marble and stone tops ship crated to the same QC standard. Certificate references go directly to serious buyers on request and are never published, to prevent misuse.

A table your customers can keep looking good.
Both halves are built to be maintained rather than replaced, which matters on a surface used every day. The powder-coated iron base needs only a dust and occasional wipe, resists scuffing through daily service, and small chips touch up with matched enamel; waxed raw-iron and patina bases can be re-waxed to deepen the finish and hold back surface rust. For patio and garden-to-table builds, the rust-inhibiting primer under exterior-grade powder coat keeps the ironwork sound outdoors, and an annual wipe-down and wax refresh extends it further. Oiled wooden tops take a soft, slightly damp wipe and a re-oil once or twice a year to feed the grain and lift light marks; lacquered tops wipe clean on a busy restaurant floor; reclaimed and distressed tops are meant to carry wear. Glass tops clean with a standard glass cleaner, and sealed marble or stone wipes clean and should be re-sealed periodically. Wooden tops are bolted to the frame with slotted cleats so the wood can breathe and move seasonally without splitting, welds are ground smooth, and levelling glides protect floors and let staff true the table. Full care and finish guidance ships with every order, so your retail and hospitality customers get consistent advice.
Wrought iron dining table sourcing, answered.
What tops can go on a wrought iron dining table?
We pair hand-forged wrought iron bases with solid-wood tops (mango, sheesham, acacia, teak or reclaimed wood), toughened glass, and marble or stone from Rajasthan's own quarries. Wood gives warmth and repairability for farmhouse and rustic ranges; glass shows off the ironwork and keeps a small room feeling open; marble and stone read premium for hospitality and villa projects. You choose the top material, size, edge and finish, and we forge and finish the base to match.
Is wrought iron the same as cast iron or steel tube for a dining table base?
No. Wrought iron is worked hot by hand — drawn, bent, scrolled and hammered at the forge, then MIG/TIG-welded into a frame — which is what gives the decorative scrollwork, tapers and twists buyers associate with the look. Cast iron is poured into moulds and is more brittle; plain steel tube reads industrial and flat. Our bases are hand-forged mild steel worked in the wrought-iron tradition, so they carry genuine ornamental detail while staying strong and repairable.
Are wrought iron dining tables strong enough for restaurants, hotels and outdoor terraces?
Yes. Bases are MIG/TIG-welded and cross-braced to the top length and weight so they stay rigid under restaurant and banquet traffic, with levelling glides to true each table on uneven floors and terraces. For garden-to-table, patio and poolside use we apply a rust-inhibiting primer under an exterior-grade powder coat; pair it with a stone, marble or weather-tolerant top and the table lives outdoors. Indoor tops such as solid wood and glass are specified for covered or interior use.
What finishes are available on wrought iron dining table bases?
Wrought iron takes powder coat in matte or satin black, graphite, bronze, white and custom RAL colours; hand-applied antique, aged-bronze, gold-leaf-highlight or hammered patina; or a waxed raw-iron finish that deepens over time. Solid-wood tops take natural oil, matte or satin lacquer, distressed or antique stain and whitewash — all top coats are CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant. We send physical finish references so your range stays consistent batch to batch.
What sizes and shapes of wrought iron dining table can you manufacture?
Standard starting points run from a 4-seat 42 in round or square up to 8-plus-seat 84-96 in rectangular tops, plus round pedestal and bistro formats. Set top height at about 30 in (76 cm) and allow 24-26 in of width per diner. Because the look suits both grand farmhouse tables and compact café and bistro pieces, we build bases and tops to your exact footprint, seating count and finish for contract and retail projects.
What is your minimum order for wrought iron dining tables?
A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum. Iron bases ship knocked-down and tops pack flat and corner-protected, so we consolidate dining tables with matching wrought iron dining chairs, benches, consoles and décor into one mixed container.
Approve the ironwork and top, then ship from one container up.
Sign off the scroll pattern, finish and top on a physical sample, then scale from a trial order to repeat container volumes on a 30–45 day lead time — QC-governed and documented for your market. Pair it with matching wrought iron dining chairs, or browse tops, styles and other materials on the dining tables hub.
