Vintage-style solid wood dining table with distressed dark patina finish and turned legs

What a vintage dining table is — and how we build it

A vintage dining table earns its character from material and finish, not from literal age. The look lives in the surface — a timeworn top with soft, rounded edges, a dark or faded antique tone, dry-brushed grain, and small honest imperfections that tell a story of years at the table. We reproduce that character two ways: from genuine reclaimed/old wood that already carries nail holes, saw kerf and natural patina, or from new solid hardwood that our craftspeople hand-distress, antique, burnish and wax to the same effect.

Either route gives your customer an authentic old-world piece, but with the predictability a buyer needs — consistent dimensions, repeatable finishes and QC on every unit. Because we are a manufacturer-exporter, each table is specified before it ships: the wood, the top thickness, the leg or base style, the degree of distressing, the antique stain depth, the sheen and the packaging. Nothing is a fixed SKU you must accept as-is.

The wood

Pick the hardwood that carries the age

All solid, all export-grade. The wood decides how the vintage finish reads — and sets your price point from mid-tier to premium.

Reclaimed / old wood

The most authentic vintage choice. Salvaged timber with real age, nail marks, bolt holes and patina — every top is unique, and it carries the strongest sustainability and deforestation-free story for your market.

Sheesham (Indian rosewood)

Dense, hard-wearing and richly figured, sheesham takes a deep antique stain and burnish beautifully — the classic Jodhpur dining wood for a premium, heirloom-feel vintage table. Handled in a CITES-compliant supply chain.

Mango

A fast-renewing, sustainable hardwood with pale-to-amber tones. It holds whitewash, limed and lightly faded "painted-vintage" finishes well, at a cost below sheesham — ideal for brighter, shabby-chic vintage ranges.

Acacia

Hard, water-resistant and boldly grained with strong colour contrast — distressing and dark antiquing read dramatically on acacia, making it a durable mid-premium option for chunky vintage tops.

Teak and rubberwood are also available on request. For a solid-wood alternative to China-sourced panel furniture, these hardwoods are the heart of the Jodhpur vintage offer.

Finishes & use cases

The vintage finishes buyers ask for

Dark antique & burnished

Deep walnut-to-espresso stains rubbed back on the edges and high points, then waxed — the heirloom, old-world look that sells best on sheesham and acacia.

Distressed & reclaimed

Genuine salvage or hand-worn edges, dents and nail marks for a rustic, lived-in character — strongest on reclaimed/old wood and the most authentic vintage story.

Whitewash & faded

Limed, dry-brushed or softly faded "painted-vintage" and shabby-chic tops for a lighter, coastal or French-country range — ideal on mango wood.

Vintage tables anchor residential dining ranges, but their character also carries into hospitality and contract projects — restaurants, cafés, wine bars, resorts and boutique reception spaces that want warmth and story in one durable piece. Pair them with vintage-finish chairs, benches or metal-and-wood seating to ship a complete dining program.

Why source vintage dining tables from us

Vintage is a finish-led category — buyers judge the authenticity of the ageing, the quality of the solid wood underneath, and the compliance paperwork behind it. We are built for all three.

  • Authentic ageing, repeatable at volume. Hand-distressing and antiquing done by craftspeople who do it daily, or genuine reclaimed wood — delivered as consistent, QC-governed stock rather than one-off pieces.
  • Compliance-proven. FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh timber-legality verification, EUDR due-diligence and geolocation ready, US Lacey Act declaration support, UK Timber Regulation, and CARB / TSCA Title VI finishes. Certificate details are shared with serious buyers one-to-one.
  • Scale with QC. Our own factory plus a vetted Jodhpur manufacturing network takes you from a trial order to repeat container volumes under managed quality control. Factory visit available on prior intimation.
  • Freight-smart forms. Flat-pack / knockdown tables cut breakage and maximise container density — a real landed-cost advantage for importers and online sellers.
  • Custom & private-label. ODM plus OEM, CNC carving and bespoke sizing, with custom, retail-ready and Amazon-FBA-ready packaging.
  • Single-source consolidation. Combine vintage dining with bedroom, décor and metalware in one compliant container instead of juggling vendors.

Care & longevity

A vintage finish is forgiving by design — its whole point is to wear gracefully. Wipe spills promptly, use coasters and trivets, and keep the table out of direct heat and prolonged sun to limit wood movement. Re-wax or re-oil the surface once or twice a year to feed the wood and deepen the aged tone; new marks simply blend into the distressed character rather than standing out. Minor dents and scratches on a solid top can be sanded and spot-treated locally, so a vintage table lasts for generations instead of being discarded. We supply care guidance and finish details with every order so your customers keep their tables looking right.

FAQs

Vintage dining table questions, answered

What makes a dining table vintage if it is newly made?

A vintage dining table reads as old through its material and finish rather than its age. We achieve the look two ways — with genuine reclaimed/old wood that carries real nail holes, saw marks and patina, or with new solid hardwood that is hand-distressed, antiqued, burnished and waxed. Both give an authentic old-world result while shipping as new, consistent, QC-governed stock.

Which woods suit a vintage dining table best?

Reclaimed/old wood is the most authentic choice and the strongest sustainability story. For aged finishes on new timber, solid sheesham (Indian rosewood), mango and acacia take distressing and dark antique stains beautifully. Each wood carries its own grain and price point, so you can position the same vintage silhouette from mid-tier to premium.

Do vintage dining tables ship flat-pack or assembled?

Both. We build assembled tables and knockdown / flat-pack (RTA) versions where the top detaches from the base. Flat-pack cuts freight cost and breakage and packs more density per container — useful for importers and online sellers moving volume.

What sizes and seating do your vintage dining tables come in?

Rectangular tops typically run from about 180 cm (seats 6) to 240 cm (seats 8) and 300 cm (seats 10), at the standard 76 cm dining height, with extendable and custom lengths on request. We also build square, round and live-edge variants to your spec.

Are your vintage dining tables compliant for the US and EU?

Yes. We work with FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh timber-legality verification, are EUDR due-diligence and geolocation ready, support US Lacey Act declarations and UK Timber Regulation, and use CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant finishes. Certificate details are shared with serious buyers directly.

What is the minimum order and lead time?

A trial or sample order can ship LCL. For best, cost-advantaged pricing we ask for one 20ft FCL minimum thereafter, with mixed-category containers supported. Typical lead time is 30–45 days; urgent orders at a premium.
