Wrought iron console tables — hand-forged bases for hallways, entryways and lobbies.

Jodhpur is as known for its ironwork as its timber, and a wrought iron console is where the two meet. We hand-forge solid steel bases and pair them with solid-wood, marble or glass tops — built to your spec, legally sourced, EUDR-ready and shipped from a single trial order up to repeat container volumes.

Why wrought iron for a console

A narrow table against a wall still has to be dead solid.

A console is a tall, shallow table — long, slim and set against a wall in an entryway, hallway or behind a sofa. Its proportions are exactly what makes a frame material matter: a narrow footprint fights tipping, and a thin top needs a base that will not rack or sway. Wrought iron is the answer buyers reach for. Worked from solid mild-steel bar and section, hand-forged and welded rather than slotted, an iron base gives a console a low centre of gravity and a rigid frame that stays square under a heavy marble or thick wood top. Iron is also endlessly expressive — it bends into scrollwork for traditional and colonial ranges, squares up into cross-braced industrial frames, or flattens into minimalist bar for contemporary rooms. It lets one workshop serve many looks from the same forge, and it pairs naturally with the solid timber Jodhpur is built on.

Sizing & build options

Console proportions, matched to the wall they serve.

A console reads best when it sits a little below the back of a sofa or around standard table height against an open wall. Every dimension below is a standard starting point — we build wrought iron consoles to your exact length, depth and height for contract and hospitality projects.

Import-ready compliance

An iron-and-wood console that clears customs cleanly.

A wrought iron console carries a solid-wood or stone top, which puts the timber component inside the regulations tightening across your markets — so we built the documentation around it. Every console ships with FSC chain-of-custody on request, Vriksh timber-legality verification, and EUDR-ready geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence on the wood. We provide US Lacey Act declaration support, UK Timber Regulation coverage, and CARB / TSCA formaldehyde-compliant finishes, with social and quality assurance under SEDEX / SMETA, ISO and SGS inspection, and ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing. Certificate references go directly to serious buyers — never published.

Care & durability

Low maintenance by design, built for public spaces.

A powder-coated iron base needs almost nothing: dust it and wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth, and avoid abrasive pads that could score the coating. Because the frame is forged from solid steel and welded at the joints, there is nothing to loosen or wobble over years of service, which is why consoles in this build suit hotel and office lobbies as readily as homes. Wood and stone tops take the usual care for their material — we ship finish and care guidance for each top with every order so your after-sales team gives consistent advice. For coastal and humid markets we specify heavier coating builds and can supply touch-up finish, so a knock in transit or in service never turns into a rust spot. Levelling feet keep the console sitting flat on the uneven floors common in older buildings and heritage hotels.

Questions buyers ask

Wrought iron console sourcing, answered.

Are wrought iron console tables strong enough for a hallway or lobby?

Yes. Our console bases are built from solid mild-steel bar and section, hand-forged and welded at the joints rather than slotted together, so they carry heavy stone or thick solid-wood tops without flex. A console lives against a wall and takes keys, lamps, trays and the occasional lean, and a forged iron frame handles that service for years in both homes and high-traffic hospitality entrances.

What tops can you pair with a wrought iron console base?

We fit wrought iron console bases with solid sheesham, mango, acacia or reclaimed-wood tops, marble and stone slabs, or glass. Wood tops suit warm and rustic interiors; marble and stone read as more formal and luxury; glass keeps a narrow hallway feeling open. We make the top to your thickness, edge profile and finish, so the same base can anchor several looks in your range.

How do you stop the iron from rusting in transit or in humid markets?

Frames are shot-blasted or wire-brushed to clean steel, then powder-coated or finished in a baked lacquer that seals the metal against moisture. For coastal or humid markets we specify heavier coating builds. Powder coat resists chipping far better than wet paint, so consoles arrive and stay sound. Touch-up guidance ships with every order for your after-sales team.

Can you make wrought iron consoles to our own drawings and finish?

Yes. We work ODM from our catalogue and OEM to your drawings — base geometry, bar thickness, top material, dimensions, powder-coat colour and private-label or retail-ready packaging. Hand-forging suits bespoke scrollwork, cross-braced industrial frames and minimalist flat-bar designs equally, and we prototype a sample for sign-off before a production run.

What is your minimum order for wrought iron console tables?

A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum. Because iron bases knock down flat and nest efficiently, we consolidate consoles with side tables, mirrors, shelving and other iron-and-wood ranges into a single mixed container.

Do wrought iron consoles ship assembled or flat-packed?

Both. Welded one-piece bases ship assembled with the top boxed separately; bolt-together bases ship knockdown (flat-pack / RTA) to cut freight and breakage, which online sellers and large importers usually prefer. All consoles leave in ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing with corner protection for the metal and wrapped tops.
