Live edge console tables — narrow natural-edge slabs for entryways, hallways and behind the sofa.

A live edge console keeps the tree's own line along a long, slim top, so the natural edge reads as one unbroken feature the moment you walk past. We cut natural-edge slabs in acacia, sheesham, mango and reclaimed wood in Jodhpur, kiln-dry and stabilise them, and finish them to your spec on slim steel or solid-wood bases that sit flat to a wall. Legally sourced, FSC and EUDR-ready, and shipped from a single trial order up to repeat container volumes.

Why a live edge console earns its wall

A long, narrow slab that keeps the tree's natural edge — the first piece a guest sees.

A console is the table that works where a full table cannot: against an entry wall, down a hallway, behind a sofa, or spanning a reception counter. Because it is long, shallow and almost always viewed head-on, the natural edge becomes a continuous feature line rather than a detail you stumble on — which makes a live edge top the most effective way to turn a passage piece into a focal one. We work from solid slabs in Jodhpur, India's largest solid-wood cluster — kiln-drying them to export moisture, stabilising natural voids and checks, then pairing each top with the slim base, finish and format your market wants. Buyers use these as the entry statement of a living range: hero SKUs for independent retailers and online ranges, lobby and corridor consoles for boutique hotels, cafés and reception areas, and bespoke centrepieces for interior designers specifying something that cannot be bought off a mass shelf.

Choose the slab wood

Four woods, one live edge program — matched to your look and price point.

Acacia

Dense, water-resistant hardwood with bold figured grain and the strongest natural edge — the fastest-moving slab for premium retail and online ranges.

Sheesham

Indian rosewood: fine-grained, heavy and deeply figured for heirloom-style tops. CITES-compliant handling and Vriksh-verified legality.

Mango

Lighter, open-grained and the most cost-advantaged for high-volume and value programmes, with a warm honeyed tone that takes stain beautifully.

Reclaimed wood

Character-rich rustic and farmhouse slabs from old wood — a credible deforestation-free story your end customers can print on the label.

Figure, colour and edge profile vary slab to slab, which is why we recommend approving a physical top before production. Request a live edge slab sample and we will send grain, edge, finish and base references for your range. For full species profiles, see the acacia wood, sheesham wood and reclaimed wood material guides.

Sizes & build options

Entry, hallway, sofa-back or demilune — scaled narrow for the wall.

A console is defined by what a coffee table is not: tall, long and shallow. Set the top at or just below hip height — 30–34 in (76–86 cm) suits most entries — and keep depth tight so the piece reads as architecture against the wall rather than furniture in the room. When it works as a sofa table, match the height to the top of the sofa back. Every dimension below is a standard starting point; we build to your exact specification under our OEM program.

Bases

Black powder-coated steel, hairpin, A-frame, trapezium and wrought-iron frames for an industrial look, or slim solid-wood legs and pedestals. Slotted fixings let the slab move without splitting, and low under-stretchers add rigidity to long spans.

Finishes

Natural oil and wax that deepen the grain, matte, satin or gloss lacquer, custom stains, and tinted-resin void fills — all in CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant formulations.

Packing & shipping

Knockdown (flat-pack / RTA) with detachable base to cut freight and breakage, or fully assembled. Carton, retail-ready, Amazon-FBA-ready or branded packaging; ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing, FOB or CIF from Mundra / Nhava Sheva.

Import-ready compliance

A single solid slab, documented for every market you sell into.

A live edge top is one uninterrupted statement of solid wood — which makes legality documentation the difference between a container that clears and one that waits. Every live edge console ships with FSC chain-of-custody on request, Vriksh timber-legality verification, CITES-compliant handling of sheesham, and EUDR-ready geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence prepared before you ask. We provide US Lacey Act declaration support, UK Timber Regulation coverage, and CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant finishes, with social and quality assurance under SEDEX / SMETA, ISO and SGS inspection, and ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing. Certificate references go directly to serious buyers — never published.

Care & durability

Keeping a long solid slab flat and beautiful.

Our slabs are kiln-dried to export moisture levels and engineered to move with the seasons — butterfly keys across any checks and slotted base fixings let a long, narrow top expand and contract without splitting. Day to day a live edge console needs only a dust with a soft dry cloth and an occasional wipe with a barely-damp one. Wipe standing liquid promptly; no solid wood is fully waterproof. A sealed matt or satin lacquer resists marks from keys, bags and everyday handling in a busy entry and needs only routine dusting, while oiled and waxed tops give a softer, more natural hand and can be re-oiled once or twice a year to feed the grain and hold the colour. Keep the table out of direct, prolonged sun to protect the tone, and anchor taller styling and lamps because a shallow console is intentionally narrow. Because the top is a dense solid slab, minor marks can be sanded and re-finished rather than replaced — a point retail customers value. Full care and finish guidance ships with every order so your buyers can brief their own customers with one consistent story.

Questions buyers ask

Live edge console table sourcing, answered.

What is a live edge console table?

A live edge console table is a narrow wall or entry table whose top keeps the tree's natural, uncut edge along one or both long sides, so the slab's original waney profile and grain become the design. We cut each top from a single solid slab, kiln-dry it, stabilise or fill any voids, and set it on a slim steel or solid-wood base shallow enough to sit flat against a wall. Because a console is long, narrow and viewed from the front, the natural edge runs as an unbroken feature line — which is why retailers, designers and hotels use it as an entryway and hallway statement piece.

What sizes do your live edge console tables come in?

Standard live edge consoles run 40–60 in (100–152 cm) long at a 30–34 in (76–86 cm) height, with a deliberately narrow 12–16 in (30–40 cm) depth so the table hugs a wall or sits behind a sofa without crowding a walkway. We also build demilune and extra-long hallway formats, plus made-to-spec sizes for reception desks and contract fit-outs. Slab thickness is typically 40–55 mm. Set the top at or just below hip height for an entry console, and level with the sofa back when it is used as a sofa table.

Which woods are best for a live edge console table?

We cut live edge console tops from acacia, sheesham (Indian rosewood), mango and reclaimed old wood. Acacia and sheesham carry the boldest figure and the strongest natural edge, so they suit premium retail and designer ranges. Mango is lighter, open-grained and the most cost-advantaged for high-volume and value programmes, while reclaimed slabs give a rustic, character-rich top with a deforestation-free story your buyers can print on the label. We help you match the wood to your price point and look.

How do you keep a long, narrow live edge slab from cracking or warping?

Slabs are kiln-dried to export moisture levels before any joinery, and because a console top is long and slim, we reinforce it with butterfly (bow-tie) keys across any checks and slotted base fixings that let the wood expand and contract with the seasons without splitting. Natural voids and knots are stabilised or filled with tinted resin on request. This construction is standard across our live edge program and documented so your QC team can verify it before the container ships.

What bases and finishes can I specify?

Live edge console tops pair with black powder-coated steel, hairpin, A-frame, trapezium and wrought-iron bases, or slim solid-wood legs and pedestals. Finishes include natural oil and wax that deepen the grain, matte, satin or gloss lacquer, custom stains, and tinted-resin void fills — all in CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant formulations. As an OEM manufacturer we build to your drawings for edge profile, base, finish and any shelf or drawer.

What is your minimum order and can live edge consoles ship flat-pack?

A trial or sample console can ship LCL (part-container) so you approve the real slab, finish and base first. For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and live edge consoles mix with coffee tables, side tables, benches and décor into a single compliant container. Most ship knockdown — the top packs flat and the base detaches — to cut freight and breakage; fully assembled is available on request.
