What it is
Salvaged wood with a history, built for the door
A reclaimed wood coat rack is made from timber that has already lived one life — old doors, roof beams, railway sleepers, boats and dismantled buildings — recovered, de-nailed, re-milled and kiln-dried, then rebuilt into a rack that carries coats, bags, hats and umbrellas every day. The grain, the old saw marks, the filled nail holes and the weathered colour are kept on purpose: they are what make the piece impossible to mass-produce and what buyers of character furniture are looking for.
Because we are a manufacturer-exporter rather than a trader, the wood source, the hook material, the finish and the packaging are specified on your line — not assumed. You get a compliant, single-source product with a genuine sustainability story, finished to the same standard whether you order a trial pallet or repeat containers, and backed by the documentation that lets it clear US and EU customs cleanly.
Why reclaimed wood
The properties that make old wood the right choice
Stable & dense
Reclaimed hardwood is usually old-growth timber that has seasoned for decades, so it is dense, dimensionally stable and far less prone to warp, split or move after shipping than freshly cut stock.
Genuinely sustainable
Every rack reuses wood that already exists — no new tree felled for the backplate. It is a real deforestation-free story your marketing can stand behind, not a claim bolted on afterwards.
One-of-a-kind character
Natural tone variation, grain, patina and honest surface marks mean no two racks are identical — the look premium retailers, designers and boutique hotels pay a margin for.
Reclaimed / old wood is one of our core solid-wood lines alongside sheesham (Indian rosewood), mango and acacia — see the full reclaimed wood material guide for sourcing and grading detail.
Formats
Three coat rack formats in salvaged wood
Wall-mounted reclaimed rack boards
A salvaged-wood backplate with a row of iron or brass hooks — the highest-density, lowest-freight format and the easiest to flat-pack. Ideal for retail, FBA and hotel rooms.
Free-standing hall trees
Floor-standing trees in reclaimed wood, often combined with an iron frame, a bench seat or a lower shoe shelf — a statement entryway piece for homes and boutique hotels.
Reclaimed wood & iron pipe racks
Industrial racks pairing an old-wood board or shelf with black iron pipe and brackets, knockdown for dense container loading and online sale.
All three ship assembled or as knockdown / flat-pack / RTA to cut freight and breakage — the right call for large importers and online sellers.
Finishes & sizes
How the wood is finished and sized
The salvaged timber is left to speak for itself, with finishes that protect without hiding its history: natural oil and wax for a matte, tactile surface; clear or low-sheen lacquer for easier wiping in contract settings; distressed and whitewashed looks for coastal and farmhouse ranges; and light stains to pull the tone warmer or greyer to match a scheme. All coatings are CARB / TSCA Title VI-compliant, low-emission finishes. Hooks and brackets are hand-forged iron in black, antique or raw finishes, or brass in polished, antique and satin tones.
Sizes are made to your spec — standard wall-board widths and hook counts, hall-tree heights, and bespoke runs for contract projects are all confirmed on your quote. Because reclaimed stock varies, we agree a controlled colour and character band on the sample so a retail or hospitality order stays consistent while every piece remains authentically reclaimed.

Who it's for
Use cases we build for
Retailers & online sellers
Shelf-ready and FBA-ready reclaimed racks with branded packaging and knockdown builds that keep per-unit freight low and tell a sustainability story at the shelf.
Hospitality & contract
Characterful, durable racks for hotel rooms, lodges, restaurants and cafés where a reclaimed, rustic-industrial look fits the interior and survives heavy daily use.
Interior designers & architects
Bespoke sizes, hook materials and controlled finishes to hit a farmhouse, coastal or industrial scheme, with samples before commitment.
Private-label & eco brands
We are the look behind your label — your design, our compliant salvaged-wood manufacturing, packaging and deforestation-free paperwork.
Care
Keeping reclaimed wood looking right
Dust with a soft dry cloth and wipe with a barely damp one; avoid soaking the wood or standing it in water, as with any solid timber. An oiled or waxed finish can be refreshed periodically to feed the surface and deepen the tone, while lacquered racks simply wipe clean — the better choice for high-traffic contract settings. Keep the rack out of direct heat and prolonged direct sun to preserve its colour. Because finishes are made to order, we match the care guidance to the exact spec shipped and can supply care cards inside your packaging.

Questions buyers ask
Reclaimed wood coat rack FAQs
What is a reclaimed wood coat rack made from?
It is built from salvaged old wood — timber recovered from old doors, beams, boats and buildings, re-milled and kiln-dried, then paired with iron or brass hooks. Each backplate keeps the grain, nail marks, saw cuts and colour variation of its past life, so every rack is one of a kind.
Is reclaimed wood strong enough to hold heavy coats?
Yes. Reclaimed hardwood is typically old-growth timber that has already fully seasoned and dried over decades, making it dense, stable and highly resistant to warping. We re-mill out defects, kiln-dry to export moisture levels and fix hooks into solid stock, so a loaded winter coat, bag or wet umbrella is well within its rated load.
Can you supply reclaimed wood coat racks with FSC and EUDR documentation?
Yes. We supply with FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh timber-legality documentation, EUDR geolocation and due-diligence data, US Lacey Act declaration support, UK Timber Regulation and CARB / TSCA Title VI compliant finishes. Certificate numbers are shared with serious buyers directly on request.
What is the minimum order for reclaimed wood coat racks?
A trial or sample order can ship LCL so you can assess the character of the wood and the build. For best container pricing we work to a one-20ft-FCL minimum thereafter, and reclaimed racks can be consolidated with other categories in a single mixed container.
Will every reclaimed wood coat rack look identical?
No, and that is the appeal — salvaged wood varies in tone, grain and surface marks, so pieces are matched to a controlled range rather than made uniform. We agree an acceptable colour and character band on the sample so your retail or hospitality order is consistent while staying authentically reclaimed.
Can you make reclaimed wood coat racks to our own design and brand?
Yes. We work ODM from our ready designs and OEM to your drawings, samples or reference images, including private-label, branded, retail-ready and Amazon-FBA-ready packaging, with CNC machining and bespoke prototyping available before bulk production.
