Live edge coat racks — natural-edge slab boards, no two alike.

A live edge coat rack keeps the tree's own contour along the board — an organic, sculptural line that factory-straight racks can't fake. We cut slab boards from solid mango, acacia, sheesham, teak and reclaimed wood, fit them with cast-iron or brass hooks, and ship from a trial order up to repeat container volumes, documented for your market.

Why live edge for a coat rack

One slab, one tree, one rack — genuinely unique.

A live edge coat rack is as close as entryway furniture gets to the tree it came from. Instead of ripping the long edge of the board straight, we keep the natural outer contour of the log — the organic, slightly wavy line — then clean off the bark and smooth it so the real shape of the tree reads along the whole board. Because each slab carries its own grain, figure, knots and edge, no two racks are ever identical; buyers are selling individuality, not a repeated SKU. It is a look that works hard across styles: raw and warm in a rustic or farmhouse hallway, clean and architectural with matte-black cast-iron hooks in a modern or industrial entryway. We cut boards from solid mango, acacia, sheesham, teak and reclaimed wood, leave natural voids raw or fill them with clear or tinted resin, and finish with iron or brass hooks in the layout you specify. It is slab craft that plays directly to our solid-wood strength in Jodhpur.

Import-ready compliance

Natural slabs, fully documented timber.

A live-edge coat rack is a solid-wood slab, which puts it squarely inside the timber regulations tightening across your markets — so we built the documentation around them. Every rack ships with FSC chain-of-custody on request, Vriksh timber-legality verification, CITES-compliant handling of sheesham, and EUDR-ready geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence. We provide US Lacey Act declaration support, UK Timber Regulation coverage, and CARB / TSCA formaldehyde-compliant finishes, with social and quality assurance under SEDEX / SMETA, ISO and SGS inspection, and ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing. Certificate references go directly to serious buyers — never published.

Care & durability

A solid slab, built and finished to last.

A live-edge board is a thick solid slab, so it is inherently robust — the care is about keeping the wood stable and the finish right. We kiln-dry every slab to a stable moisture level before machining, which controls the natural movement and checking that unseasoned slabs suffer, and we seal end grain and natural voids so the board settles cleanly into heated or air-conditioned interiors. Oiled boards show the grain beautifully and can be refreshed with a wipe of furniture oil once or twice a year; lacquered boards wipe clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and suit café and contract use. Resin-filled voids are inert and simply wipe clean. Iron and brass hooks are through-fixed into the solid slab, not into thin panel, so they carry real coat and bag weight; we supply the right wall fixings and a French-cleat option for a clean, load-bearing mount. Full care, mounting and finish guidance ships with every order. Compare slab woods on our mango wood and reclaimed wood pages.

Questions buyers ask

Live edge coat rack sourcing, answered.

What is a live edge coat rack?

A live edge coat rack is a wall or hall-tree rack whose board keeps the natural, uncut outer contour of the tree along its long edge — the organic wavy line, cleaned of bark and smoothed, rather than ripped straight. The board is a single solid-wood slab fitted with hooks, so each rack carries the real grain, knots and edge of the log it came from. No two are identical, which is the appeal buyers are selling.

What woods and hooks do you use for live edge coat racks?

We cut live-edge slab boards from solid mango, acacia, sheesham, teak and reclaimed wood. Mango and acacia give lively, varied grain at a value price; sheesham brings rich dark figure; reclaimed slabs add weathered character. Hooks are cast iron or brass, in black, antique, satin or polished finishes, and we set hook count and spacing to your drawing.

Are live edge coat racks wall-mounted or freestanding?

Both. The most common form is a wall-mounted natural-edge board with a row of hooks, which ships compact and flat. We also build freestanding hall-tree coat stands and entryway bench-with-rack units that carry a live-edge back panel or shelf, offered assembled or as knockdown / flat-pack to cut freight and breakage.

What is your minimum order for live edge coat racks?

Because slabs are natural, a trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container) so you can approve wood, finish and hardware first. For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and we consolidate live-edge coat racks with live-edge benches, consoles, mirrors and other entryway lines into a single mixed container.

Are your live edge coat racks compliant for US and EU import?

Yes. A live-edge board is solid timber, so we document FSC chain-of-custody and Vriksh timber-legality on request, handle sheesham (Dalbergia sissoo) CITES-compliantly, and are EUDR-ready with geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence. We support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation, CARB / TSCA-compliant finishes and ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing.

Can you make live edge coat racks to our own design and brand?

Yes. We work as ODM from our catalogue and as OEM to your drawings — slab wood, board length and thickness, edge treatment, resin fill, hook type, count and layout, plus private-label and retail-ready or Amazon-FBA-ready packaging. Because each slab is unique, we can also photograph and reserve specific boards for a buyer's order.
