Mango wood chests of drawers — sustainable solid-wood dressers built for export.
Mango is the value hardwood importers reach for when a chest has to look solid, store heavy and ship responsibly. We manufacture mango-wood chests, dressers and tallboys in Jodhpur — dovetailed drawers, kiln-dried carcasses, FSC and EUDR-ready — finished to your spec and shipped from a single trial order up to repeat container volumes.
A value hardwood that stores like a premium one.
A chest of drawers earns its keep on two things: how much it can hold and how good it looks doing it. Mango (Mangifera indica) answers both. It is a genuine medium-density hardwood — hard enough that drawer boxes, runners and tops shrug off daily loading, yet lighter than dense rosewoods, which keeps a tallboy easy to handle on the shop floor and friendlier on freight. Its grain is its signature: lustrous, close and endlessly varied, shifting from pale gold to deep brown with the occasional dark or pinkish streak, so no two fronts are identical. Mango also accepts colour beautifully — natural oil, rich walnut stain, limewash, solid paint or two-tone fronts all sit cleanly on it, which is why it is our go-to base for boho, farmhouse and bone-inlay dressers. And it is responsibly sourced: the timber comes from orchard trees past their fruiting life, not cleared forest.

Built to open and close for years.
Mango carcasses and drawer boxes are kiln-dried to stable moisture levels before joinery, so drawers stay square and glide cleanly through seasonal humidity shifts. Dust with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth, and avoid standing water and harsh solvents, which can mark the finish. A light wax or oil refresh once a year keeps oiled and natural surfaces glowing; sealed and painted fronts need only wiping. Wood-on-wood runners can be rubbed with a candle or paste wax if they ever stiffen, and metal soft-close slides are maintenance-free. Because mango's colour varies naturally from board to board, we match fronts for tone within each piece and across a production run. Full care and finish guidance ships with every order so your retail and contract customers get consistent advice.
Mango wood chest sourcing, answered.
Is mango wood good for a chest of drawers?
Yes. Mango (Mangifera indica) is a medium-density tropical hardwood — hard enough for drawer carcasses, runners and fronts that take daily loading, yet light enough to keep a tall dresser manageable to handle and ship. Its lustrous, varied golden-to-brown grain gives every chest genuine character, and it takes stains, paints and two-tone finishes exceptionally well, which is why it is a favourite base for boho, farmhouse and bone-inlay dressers.
Is mango wood sustainable?
Very. Mango is a fast-growing fruiting tree, and the timber is harvested once orchards stop fruiting productively (typically after around 15 years), so it is a by-product of fruit farming rather than forestry clearance. That makes it one of the most responsible hardwoods on the market. We supply it with FSC chain-of-custody on request, Vriksh timber-legality verification and EUDR-ready deforestation-free due diligence.
What drawer sizes and configurations do you make?
We build three-drawer and four-drawer chests, wide six- and eight-drawer dressers, and tall narrow tallboys. Standard widths run roughly 30–48 in (76–122 cm) wide dressers and 18–30 in (46–76 cm) tallboys, 16–20 in (41–51 cm) deep. We also manufacture to your exact drawer count, dimensions and internal layout for retail and contract ranges.
What drawer runners and joinery do you use?
Drawer boxes are built with dovetail or dowelled corners for strength, running on wood-on-wood runners as standard or metal soft-close/ball-bearing slides on request. Carcasses use solid mango panels with mortise-and-tenon and dowelled framing, kiln-dried to stable moisture levels so drawers stay true and glide cleanly.
What is your minimum order for mango wood chests of drawers?
A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and we consolidate chests of drawers with beds, nightstands, dressers and other categories into a single mixed container.
Can you make mango chests to our own design and finish?
Yes. We work as ODM (our catalogue designs) and OEM (your drawings, dimensions, finishes and private-label or retail-ready packaging), including painted and two-tone fronts, bone-inlay and carved facings, brass or iron handles, and knockdown builds to cut freight.
Sample the grain and finish, then ship from one container up.
Approve the grain, colour and drawer action on a physical sample, then scale from a trial order to repeat container volumes on a 30–45 day lead time — QC-governed and documented for your market. Read the full species profile on the mango wood material guide, or compare woods and configurations on the chests of drawers hub.
