Wrought iron benches — hand-forged metal frames for garden and industrial seating.

Iron is Jodhpur's other great craft, and it gives a bench strength, line and weather-capability wood alone cannot. We manufacture hand-forged wrought iron garden, patio and industrial benches — powder-coated, paired with solid-wood seats where you want them, EUDR-ready on the timber, and shipped from a single trial order up to repeat container volumes.

Why wrought iron for a bench

The strength and line of forged metal, built by a city that has worked iron for generations.

Jodhpur is as well known for its ironwork as for its solid-wood furniture, and wrought iron brings a bench qualities timber cannot. It is worked and forged by hand — heated, bent and shaped into scrolls, bars and frames — which makes it strong, slightly ductile and, importantly, repairable, unlike brittle cast iron. That process is also what gives wrought iron its flowing, decorative lines, the look buyers reach for in classic garden and park benches. Structurally, a slim iron frame carries far more than a wooden one of the same section, so benches can be lighter in appearance yet sturdier underfoot. And with the right finish — a zinc primer under a durable powder-coat, or hot-dip galvanising for coastal sites — iron becomes genuinely weather-capable, which is why it pairs so naturally with a teak or treated-hardwood seat for outdoor use. For garden, industrial and vintage programs, wrought iron is the frame that does the heavy lifting.

Metalware and wood seats, documented for your market.

A wrought iron bench is primarily metalware, with timber where a seat is specified, and we document both. Iron frames are inspected under SGS and produced under SEDEX / SMETA ethical and social audit with ISO quality management, finished with corrosion-resistant powder-coat over zinc primer. Any solid-wood seat ships with FSC chain-of-custody on request, Vriksh timber-legality verification, and EUDR-ready geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence, plus US Lacey Act declaration support, UK Timber Regulation coverage and CARB / TSCA formaldehyde-compliant finishes. Export packing is ISPM-15 heat-treated. Certificate references go directly to serious buyers — never published.

Care & durability

Finished to your brief, built to take weather and weight.

A powder-coated wrought iron bench needs very little: wipe the frame with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent, and avoid abrasive pads that can score the coating. For outdoor benches, inspect the finish once or twice a year and touch up any chips promptly with matching paint so moisture cannot reach the metal and start rust — the coating is the bench's weather defence. In coastal and poolside settings, hot-dip galvanising beneath the coat adds a further layer of protection. Wood seats are cared for by species: teak and acacia tolerate the outdoors with occasional oiling, while mango and reclaimed seats are for indoor and covered use. Because wrought iron is forged rather than cast, a damaged frame can usually be repaired rather than replaced. Full care and finish guidance ships with every order so your retail and hospitality customers get consistent advice.

Questions buyers ask

Wrought iron bench sourcing, answered.

Are wrought iron benches good for outdoor use?

Yes, when finished correctly. Jodhpur is a long-established ironwork hub, and we build garden and patio benches on hand-forged iron frames protected with a zinc primer and durable powder-coat — or hot-dip galvanising for the harshest coastal and poolside sites. Paired with a teak or treated-hardwood seat, a wrought iron bench stands up to weather for years. Uncoated raw iron is for indoor and dry settings only.

What is the difference between wrought iron and cast iron benches?

Wrought iron is worked and forged by hand — heated and shaped into scrolls, bars and frames — which makes it strong, slightly ductile and repairable, and gives it the flowing decorative lines buyers associate with garden seating. Cast iron is poured into moulds and is more brittle. Our benches use forged and fabricated steel and iron for strength, with hand-forged detailing where the design calls for it.

Can you combine a wrought iron frame with a wood seat?

Yes — it is one of our most popular builds. A powder-coated iron frame carries a solid-wood seat in mango, acacia, teak or reclaimed timber, giving you the strength and line of metal with the warmth of wood. For outdoor benches we specify teak or treated hardwood seats; for industrial indoor looks, reclaimed or mango slats on a black iron frame.

What styles of wrought iron bench do you make?

Wrought iron suits classic scrolled garden benches, clean industrial benches, vintage park benches and minimal modern frames. We build backed and backless benches, bench-and-table garden sets, and entryway benches. As an OEM manufacturer we forge and fabricate to your exact drawings, dimensions and finish.

What is your minimum order for wrought iron benches?

A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and we consolidate wrought iron benches with iron-and-wood furniture, outdoor ranges and metal décor into a single mixed container.

How are wrought iron benches finished and protected against rust?

Frames are cleaned, treated with a rust-inhibiting zinc primer and then powder-coated in your chosen colour and sheen for a tough, even finish — or hot-dip galvanised beneath the coat for maximum corrosion resistance in coastal settings. Powder-coating is more durable and uniform than wet paint and resists chipping and UV fade.
