Rosewood beds — dense, richly grained heirloom frames.
Rosewood is the wood for a bed that has to look deep, carved and unmistakably luxurious. We manufacture solid rosewood and sheesham platform, carved-headboard and four-poster beds in Jodhpur — dense, dark-grained and built to be handed down — CITES-handled, FSC and EUDR-ready, finished to your spec and shipped from a single trial order up to repeat container volumes.
Density, depth of colour and carving that other woods can't match.
Rosewood is the aristocrat of the woods we work. In our workshops it means principally Indian rosewood / sheesham (Dalbergia sissoo), with Dalbergia latifolia for the finest grades — dense, heavy, close-grained hardwoods that run from warm golden-brown to deep chocolate and purple-brown, streaked with the dramatic dark figure that makes rosewood instantly recognisable. That density does two things for a bed: it gives real structural strength and longevity, and it lets our carvers cut crisp, detailed headboards, turned posts and fluted detail that softer woods simply cannot hold. The result is a frame that reads as a traditional heirloom — darker, richer and more ornate than teak or mango — and sits at the very top of a luxury bedroom range. Because rosewood is a Dalbergia, every piece is handled under CITES-compliant sourcing, so its beauty always travels with its paperwork.

Packing & shipping
Assembled or knockdown (flat-pack / RTA) with bolt-through fittings to cut freight and breakage on these heavy frames. Carton, retail-ready or branded packaging; ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing, FOB or CIF from Mundra / Nhava Sheva.
A CITES-listed wood, moved with its paperwork.
Rosewood's beauty comes with responsibility: Dalbergia species are CITES-listed, and a bed that ships without the right permits does not clear customs. We handle every rosewood and sheesham frame under CITES-compliant sourcing, with the certificates and permits your market requires, alongside Vriksh timber-legality verification and EUDR-ready geolocation and due-diligence data. We provide US Lacey Act declaration support, UK Timber Regulation coverage, and CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant finishes, with social and quality assurance under SEDEX / SMETA, ISO and SGS inspection, and ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing. Certificate references go directly to serious buyers — never published. Your luxury container moves cleanly.

Built dense, built to be handed down.
Rosewood is kiln-dried to stable moisture before any joinery is cut, which is essential for so dense a hardwood, and we engineer bolt-through rail connections, dowelled or tenoned carved headboards and reinforced centre rails so the frame carries full sleeper loads in silence. The density that makes rosewood ideal for carving also makes it hard-wearing: surfaces resist dents and the frame shrugs off decades of use. In service, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and buff dry; a light occasional wax or oil keeps the colour deep and lustrous, and polished finishes can be refreshed over time. Keep the bed out of prolonged direct sun to preserve its rich tone, and avoid standing water and harsh solvents. Full care and finish guidance ships with every order so your retail and hospitality customers get consistent advice.
Rosewood bed sourcing, answered.
What makes rosewood a premium bed material?
Rosewood — in our workshops principally Indian rosewood / sheesham (Dalbergia sissoo), with Dalbergia latifolia for the finest grades — is a dense, heavy, close-grained hardwood with deep brown and reddish tones and dramatic dark figure. It is hard-wearing, dimensionally strong and takes fine carving beautifully, so a rosewood bed reads as a genuine heirloom and sits at the very top of a bedroom range alongside teak.
Is rosewood legal to export, given CITES?
Yes, with the right paperwork, which is exactly what we provide. Dalbergia species are CITES-listed, so we handle rosewood and sheesham under CITES-compliant sourcing with the certificates and permits your market requires, alongside Vriksh timber-legality verification and EUDR-ready due diligence. Documentation goes directly to serious buyers to keep the shipment moving cleanly through customs.
How does rosewood compare to teak for a bed?
Both are premium. Teak wins on outdoor and humidity resistance thanks to its natural oils; rosewood wins on sheer density, depth of colour and carved detail, giving a darker, more ornate, more traditional look. For richly carved headboards and dark-toned luxury bedrooms, rosewood is the natural choice. We are happy to quote both so you can position each where it belongs in your range.
What bed sizes do you export in rosewood?
We build US twin to king, UK single to super-king and EU 90–180 cm widths, in platform, carved-headboard, four-poster and storage-drawer builds. Slat spacing, rebate depth, headboard carving and post detail are made to your specification so frames suit the mattresses and look your market wants.
What is your minimum order for rosewood beds?
A trial or sample bed can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and we consolidate rosewood beds with matching nightstands, chests and other premium pieces into a single mixed container.
Can you carve rosewood beds to our own design?
Yes. Rosewood's density makes it ideal for crisp hand-carving and CNC detailing, so we build to your drawings as OEM — bespoke headboard carving, turned or fluted posts, private-label and retail-ready packaging — as well as offering our ODM catalogue designs. Knockdown construction keeps freight efficient on these dense, heavy frames.
Approve the carving and colour, then ship from one container up.
Sign off grain, carving and finish on a physical sample, then scale from a trial order to repeat container volumes on a 30–45 day lead time — CITES-handled, QC-governed and documented for your market.
