Why mango for a bathroom vanity

The solid-wood look, at a value a bathroom range can carry.

Mango (Mangifera indica) is a genuine hardwood — dense, close-grained and heavier than people expect — grown across India as a fruit tree. Once the tree stops bearing, its timber is harvested rather than burnt, which makes mango one of the most sustainable value woods on the market and a tree that is nowhere near endangered. For a vanity, two qualities matter. First, the grain: mango runs with a lustrous, shifting figure in honey, caramel, pink and occasional green-grey streaks, so no two fronts look identical and the wood reads as characterful, not flat. Second, it machines and finishes cleanly, taking carving, fluting and a hard moisture-resistant lacquer without blotching. Mango is not naturally oily like teak, so the bathroom performance comes from how we build it — kiln-drying, a sealed envelope and the right top — rather than from the species alone. Done that way, it gives retailers and hospitality buyers a warm, affordable solid-wood vanity with real character.

Care & durability

Built for the bathroom, easy for your customers to live with.

A mango vanity's working life comes from its build. We kiln-dry the timber to a stable moisture content before joinery, so doors and drawers stay true through the humidity swings a bathroom goes through every day, and we seal the whole envelope — top, end-grain, basin and tap cut-outs, and the underside around the waste — so splash and steam never meet raw wood. For end-users the care is simple: wipe spills and standing water promptly, clean with a soft damp cloth and a mild pH-neutral cleaner, and avoid abrasive pads and bleach-based sprays that attack any lacquer. A working extractor fan or an opening window keeps ambient humidity down and is the single best thing a bathroom can have. Where a vanity sits in a splash-heavy or commercial washroom, we recommend a stone or lacquered top over the mango base. Full care and finish guidance ships with every order, so your retail and hospitality customers get consistent advice.

Questions buyers ask

Mango wood vanity sourcing, answered.

Is mango wood good for a bathroom vanity?

Mango wood is a dense, close-grained hardwood that performs well as a bathroom vanity when it is kiln-dried and properly sealed, which is how we build it. The grain is tight enough to take a hard-wearing moisture-resistant lacquer, and we seal end-grain, cut-outs and the underside around the basin so splash and steam cannot reach raw timber. For a well-ventilated bathroom it gives the warmth of solid wood at a far better value than teak.

How do you protect mango wood vanities against bathroom moisture?

Every unit is kiln-dried to a stable moisture content, then finished with a water-resistant PU or marine-grade lacquer in CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant formulations. Basin cut-outs, tap holes and the top surface get extra coats, undersides are sealed, and we can specify lacquered or stone tops over the wood. We recommend an extractor fan or window, as with any solid-wood vanity.

What sizes and basin options do you offer?

We build single vanities from roughly 24 to 48 in (60–122 cm) wide and double vanities from 60 to 72 in (152–183 cm), in wall-hung, freestanding and floor-standing formats. Tops can be cut for countertop (vessel) basins, drop-in or under-mount basins, with pre-bored tap and waste holes to your plumbing standard. We also build to your exact drawings for hospitality and project work.

Is mango wood sustainable?

Yes — this is one of its strongest selling points. Mango (Mangifera indica) is a fast-growing tree harvested for timber after its fruit-bearing years end, so furniture use adds value to a tree that would otherwise be felled and burnt. It is not an endangered species. We supply FSC chain-of-custody on request, Vriksh timber-legality verification and EUDR-ready deforestation-free documentation.

What is your minimum order for mango wood bathroom vanities?

A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and we consolidate vanities with mirrors, open shelves, bath stools, towel ladders and other categories into a single mixed container.

Can you make mango wood vanities to our own design and brand?

Yes. We work as ODM (our catalogue designs) and OEM (your drawings, dimensions, basin specification, hardware and private-label or retail-ready packaging), including custom CNC-carved fronts, fluted or cane-front doors, and mango tops on powder-coated iron frames.
