Reclaimed bar stools — salvaged old-growth timber built for bars with a story.
Each stool is cut from solid timber recovered from old buildings, beams and sleepers — dense, decades-seasoned hardwood with patina no factory distressing can fake. We manufacture reclaimed counter, bar and spectator stools in Jodhpur, document them for import, and ship from a single trial order up to repeat container volumes.
Character you can sell, built on timber that has already proven itself.
A bar stool is one of the most abused seats in any room — constant climbing on and off, dragged legs, spilt drinks and wiped-down tops. Reclaimed hardwood answers all of it, and adds the one thing new stock can't: a genuine past. The boards are salvaged from old structures and used stock — demolished buildings, old doors, roof beams, boats and railway sleepers — then de-nailed, cleaned, re-sawn and kiln-dried back to export moisture levels before they become a seat. Because most of this timber is slow-grown old teak, sheesham (Indian rosewood), acacia and mixed tropical hardwood, it is dense, hard-wearing and has already done its moving, splitting and settling over decades. What reaches the bar is a stool that is dimensionally stable, resists dents from daily service, and carries nail holes, bolt scars, weathered patina and deep closed grain that make every piece one of a kind. For breweries, distilleries, loft bars and eco-led retail ranges, it is a seat with a built-in narrative — and a deforestation-free sustainability claim your buyers can repeat.
How a reclaimed stool performs where new softwood seats fail.
| Attribute | Reclaimed bar stool characteristic |
|---|---|
| Material | Solid salvaged timber throughout seat, legs and stretchers — reprocessed, never freshly felled |
| Base species | Varies by source — commonly old teak, sheesham, acacia and mixed tropical hardwoods |
| Hardness | Generally high — slow-grown old-growth stock resists the dents and scuffs of daily bar use |
| Moisture stability | Excellent — decades-seasoned then re-kiln-dried to export levels; low tendency to warp or move |
| Grain & character | Pronounced and weathered — patina, saw and nail marks, colour variation; every stool unique |
| Structural strength | Mortise-and-tenon and dowelled joinery for a stable, wobble-free frame under repeated loading |
| Sustainability | Reuses existing timber — no new tree felled; genuine deforestation-free story for eco ranges |
| Best settings | Home bars, kitchen islands, breweries, distilleries, restaurant and hotel bars, loft and retail fixtures |
Exact density, tone and hardness depend on the salvaged species, which is why we recommend approving a physical stool before production. Request a reclaimed bar stool sample and we will send grain, patina, height and finish references for your range, or compare the material in depth on the reclaimed wood guide.
Counter, bar and spectator — matched to your top.
Match stool seat height to the surface it serves: allow roughly 10–12 in (25–30 cm) between the seat and the underside of the top for comfortable legroom. Every dimension below is a standard starting point — we build reclaimed stools to your exact specification for contract projects.
| Type | Seat height | Suits top height | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Counter stool | 24–26 in · 61–66 cm | 35–37 in · 89–94 cm | Kitchen islands, café counters |
| Bar stool | 29–31 in · 74–79 cm | 40–42 in · 102–107 cm | Home bars, restaurant and brewery bars |
| Spectator / extra-tall | 33–36 in · 84–91 cm | 44–47 in · 112–119 cm | Raised bars, poseur tables |
| Backless stool | 24–31 in · 61–79 cm | Counter or bar | Tuck-under, space-saving layouts |

A reuse story your compliance team can actually document.
Reclaimed wood is one of the strongest sustainability claims in furniture — but only if the paperwork holds up at the port. We treat reclaimed stools the same way we treat freshly-sawn timber: documented, traceable and import-ready. Every order ships with FSC chain-of-custody where applicable, Vriksh timber-legality verification and EUDR-ready geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence. We provide US Lacey Act declaration support, UK Timber Regulation coverage and CARB / TSCA formaldehyde-compliant finishes, with social and quality assurance under SEDEX / SMETA, ISO and SGS inspection, and ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing. CITES-compliant handling applies to any sheesham (Dalbergia sissoo) in the salvaged mix. We give you the paperwork, not just the claim.
| Area | Our standard |
|---|---|
| Timber legality | Vriksh verified · CITES-compliant sheesham |
| Sustainability | Reclaimed / reuse-led · FSC chain-of-custody |
| EU market | EUDR-ready · geolocation · UKTR |
| US market | Lacey Act support · CARB / TSCA finishes |
| Social & quality | SEDEX / SMETA · ISO · SGS inspection |

Finished to your brief, built to take years of service.
Reclaimed seats and frames are re-kiln-dried to stable export moisture levels before joinery, so they hold firm under the heavy, repeated loading a bar demands. Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and wipe spills promptly; refresh oiled surfaces with furniture oil or wax, and keep stools away from standing water, harsh solvents and prolonged direct heat or sun. Oiled finishes can be re-oiled once or twice a year to feed the grain and deepen the patina; lacquered surfaces need only gentle cleaning. Wrought-iron frames are powder-coated against scuffing, and footrests can be specified with protective finishes for high-wear venues. Because salvaged character means visible variation is expected and desirable, we ship full care and finish guidance with every order so your retail and hospitality customers get consistent advice rather than mistaking patina for a defect.
Reclaimed bar stool sourcing, answered.
What is a reclaimed bar stool made from?
A reclaimed bar stool is built from solid timber salvaged from old structures and used stock — commonly old teak, sheesham, acacia and mixed tropical hardwoods recovered from demolished buildings, doors, roof beams, boats and railway sleepers. The wood is de-nailed, cleaned, re-sawn, kiln-dried to export moisture levels and re-milled into seats, legs and stretchers, so every stool carries genuine age, patina and saw marks rather than a printed or factory-distressed finish.
Are reclaimed wood bar stools strong enough for commercial bars?
Yes. Most reclaimed stock is dense, slow-grown old-growth hardwood that has already fully seasoned and settled over decades, so it is dimensionally stable and hard-wearing. Re-kiln-drying plus solid mortise-and-tenon and dowelled joinery make reclaimed stools well suited to high-traffic home bars, breweries, distilleries, restaurant bars and hotel lounges. We QC every piece and specify commercial-grade sealed finishes on request.
What seat heights do your reclaimed bar stools come in?
We build three standard heights: counter stools at roughly 24–26 in (61–66 cm) for 35–37 in counters, bar stools at roughly 29–31 in (74–79 cm) for 40–42 in bar tops, and spectator or extra-tall stools at 33–36 in (84–91 cm) for raised bars. Backless tuck-under versions are made at counter and bar height, and we manufacture to your exact seat height for contract and hospitality projects.
Can colour and finish be matched across a reclaimed bar stool order?
Because salvaged timber is naturally varied, no two boards are identical — that character is the point of reclaimed furniture. We control it with grading, blending and physical sample approval so a batch of stools reads as one coherent set rather than random offcuts. We work ODM from our own designs or OEM to your drawings and finishes, and we approve a sample before bulk production.
Is a reclaimed bar stool a sustainable, deforestation-free choice?
Reclaimed wood reuses timber that already exists, so no new tree is felled for the stool — it keeps usable hardwood out of waste streams and gives eco-led ranges a genuine reuse story. We document the chain for import with FSC chain-of-custody where applicable, Vriksh timber-legality verification and EUDR-ready due diligence, plus US Lacey Act declaration support, UK Timber Regulation coverage and CITES-compliant handling of any sheesham in the mix.
What is your minimum order for reclaimed bar stools?
A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container). For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load is our standard minimum, and we consolidate reclaimed bar stools with tables, cabinets, décor and metalware into a single mixed container. Typical lead time is 30–45 days, shipped FOB or CIF from Mundra or Nhava Sheva.
Sample the patina and height, then ship from one container up.
Approve the grain, finish and seat height on a physical sample, then scale from a trial order to repeat container volumes on a 30–45 day lead time — QC-governed and documented for your market. See the full range of heights and builds on the bar stools hub, or read how salvaged timber compares on the reclaimed wood material guide.
