What it is

A chair with a story you can actually sell.

A reclaimed wood armchair is built from solid timber recovered from structures that have reached the end of their first life — demolished buildings, old doors and window frames, roof beams and joists, decommissioned boats, factory floors and railway sleepers. Rather than felling a fresh tree, we sort, de-nail, clean, re-saw and kiln-dry the salvaged boards to export moisture levels, then re-mill them into furniture-grade frame stock. The result is a seat that carries nail holes, saw marks, bolt scars, weathered patina and deep, closed grain — character that distressing and printing cannot fake, with every chair genuinely one of a kind.

The base species vary with the source, but reclaimed stock in India is typically old teak, sheesham (Indian rosewood), acacia and mixed tropical hardwoods — woods that were slow-grown and dense to begin with. Because the timber has already done most of its moving, splitting and settling over decades, the frames are exceptionally stable. We build the full seating range from this reclaimed heart: tight-back club chairs, relaxed lounge chairs, and the rugged wood-and-iron accent chairs that pair a reclaimed seat and arms with a wrought-iron base for the industrial look that sells.

Why buyers specify it

Dense, stable, sustainable — and premium on the shelf.

Authentic age, not imitation

Genuine patina, grain and tool marks earned over decades — the kind of depth a factory distress pass can never reproduce. Each reclaimed armchair reads as a one-off, which lifts perceived value and margin at retail and in hospitality fit-outs.

Hard-wearing old-growth timber

Slow-grown, dense hardwood that has fully seasoned means stable frames that resist dents and daily abuse. Re-kiln-dried and solidly joined, often on a wrought-iron base, they stand up to café, bar, restaurant and lobby use.

A real reuse story

Reclaimed wood reuses timber that already exists — no new tree felled, usable hardwood kept out of waste streams. It is one of the strongest, most defensible sustainability claims you can put on a seating range.

The compliance edge

A reuse story your compliance team can actually document.

Reclaimed wood is a powerful sustainability claim — but only if the paperwork holds up at the port. We treat reclaimed armchairs the same way we treat freshly-sawn timber: documented, traceable and import-ready. That means FSC chain-of-custody where applicable, Vriksh timber-legality verification, and EUDR-ready due diligence with geolocation and deforestation-free declarations.

We support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation (UKTR), CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant finishes and ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing, with SEDEX / SMETA social audit, ISO quality management and SGS inspection behind the line. CITES-compliant handling applies to any sheesham (Dalbergia sissoo) in the mix. Certificate details are shared with serious buyers directly on request.

Use cases & care

Where these chairs earn their place — and how to keep them.

Best use cases

Industrial and rustic living rooms, reading corners and boutique bedrooms; café, bar and restaurant floors; hotel lobbies and reception seating; designer fit-outs and loft-style retail displays. The reclaimed-and-iron accent chair is a reliable hospitality and merchandising staple.

Everyday care

Dust with a soft dry cloth and wipe spills promptly; keep out of direct heat and prolonged sun. Oiled or waxed frames can be refreshed periodically; lacquered surfaces need only gentle cleaning. Any leather responds to a periodic conditioner; cane prefers a light vacuum and stable humidity.

Built for shipping

Dense reclaimed frames travel best as knockdown / flat-pack — lower freight, denser container loading and less transit damage — or fully assembled where the design demands. Every chair is QC-checked for fit and finish and export-packed to ISPM-15.

Common questions

Reclaimed armchair sourcing, answered.

What is a reclaimed wood armchair made from?

A reclaimed wood armchair is built from solid timber salvaged and reprocessed from old structures and used stock — commonly old teak, sheesham, acacia and mixed hardwoods recovered from demolished buildings, doors, beams, boats and railway sleepers. The boards are de-nailed, cleaned, re-sawn, kiln-dried to export moisture levels and re-milled into furniture-grade frames, so each chair carries genuine age, patina and grain rather than a printed or factory-distressed finish. Seats and arms are often paired with wrought iron for the industrial look.

Are reclaimed wood armchairs strong enough for café, bar and hotel use?

Yes. Most reclaimed stock is dense, slow-grown old-growth hardwood that has already fully seasoned and moved over decades, so the frames are dimensionally stable and hard-wearing. Re-kiln-drying and solid-timber joinery — often reinforced with a wrought-iron base — make these chairs well suited to café, bar, restaurant, reception and hotel-lobby seating. We QC every piece and can specify commercial-grade finishes for contract use.

Can colour and sizing be matched across a batch of reclaimed wood armchairs?

Because reclaimed timber is naturally varied, no two frames are identical — that character is the point. We manage consistency through grading, controlled blending and sample approval so a batch reads as one coherent collection. We build to your drawings, dimensions and finishes (OEM) or from our own designs (ODM), with custom CNC detailing and retail-ready or branded packaging, and we approve a physical sample before bulk production.

Are your reclaimed wood armchairs compliant for US and EU import?

Yes. We document FSC chain-of-custody where applicable and Vriksh timber-legality verification, handle any Dalbergia sissoo (sheesham) under CITES, and are EUDR-ready with geolocation and deforestation-free due diligence. We support US Lacey Act declarations, UK Timber Regulation, CARB / TSCA Title VI formaldehyde-compliant finishes and ISPM-15 heat-treated export packing — documented per shipment and shared with serious buyers on request.

What is your minimum order and lead time for reclaimed wood armchairs?

A trial or sample order can ship LCL (part-container) so you can approve the chair before committing. For best wholesale pricing thereafter, one 20ft full container load (FCL) is our standard minimum, and reclaimed armchairs consolidate with tables, benches and décor into a single mixed container. Typical lead time is 30–45 days, with urgent orders at a premium. We ship FOB or CIF from Mundra or Nhava Sheva.

Can reclaimed wood armchairs ship knocked-down or flat-pack?

Where the design allows, we supply reclaimed armchairs in knockdown / RTA form with bolt-on legs, arms or iron bases to cut freight and breakage — which suits dense, heavy old-wood frames especially well for large importers and online sellers. Fully assembled builds are also available.
