Rubberwood furniture — the sustainable, fine-grained hardwood we export worldwide.
A dense, pale, close-grained plantation hardwood that finishes beautifully and costs less than premium rainforest timbers. We manufacture rubberwood furniture and components for importers, retailers and hospitality buyers — kiln-dried, preservative-treated, and shipped with full timber-legality paperwork.
A latex tree that becomes fine furniture.
Rubberwood is the timber of the Hevea brasiliensis tree — the same tree tapped for natural latex. After roughly 25 to 30 years the tree stops yielding latex and would once have been burned; today that mature wood is harvested, kiln-dried and milled into furniture. The result is a genuinely sustainable hardwood: a by-product of an existing plantation crop, not a cause of deforestation.
Pale, even canvas
A creamy blonde base with a subtle, mostly straight grain — it takes stain and tint predictably and can be finished natural or made to read as oak, walnut or warm teak.
Dense and workable
A true hardwood that machines cleanly, carves on CNC, and holds joints, dowels and screws — ideal for frames, legs, tabletops and cabinet carcasses.
Cost-advantaged
Strength and finish close to premium timbers at a lower landed cost — a smart core wood for high-volume ranges and private-label programmes.

Where rubberwood wins — and where we steer you elsewhere.
Why buyers choose it
- Sustainable, plantation-sourced hardwood with a clean deforestation-free story for EU and US buyers.
- Hard and dense — comparable Janka hardness to teak, well above most pines.
- Pale, uniform grain that finishes to order, including convincing walnut and oak tones.
- Cost-advantaged, so it protects margin on volume ranges and private-label lines.
- Machines and carves beautifully on CNC for shaped legs, edges and detail.
What to plan for
- An indoor timber — not naturally weather- or rot-resistant, so not for outdoor use.
- Must be properly kiln-dried and preservative-treated; untreated rubberwood is prone to fungi and borers. All of ours is treated before manufacture.
- Often engineered as finger-jointed or edge-glued panels for stability and yield — excellent for painted and stained work.
- For heirloom rosewood character or outdoor pieces, we may recommend sheesham or acacia instead.
A deforestation-free wood, documented for your market.
Rubberwood is plantation-grown and harvested at the end of its latex life, which gives it one of the cleanest legality stories in solid-wood furniture. We back it with FSC chain-of-custody on request and EUDR-ready geolocation and due-diligence records, so your container clears European and US customs without surprises. Finishes meet CARB / TSCA formaldehyde norms, and export packing is ISPM-15 heat-treated.

Private-label manufacturingRubberwood furniture, answered.
Is rubberwood a hardwood and is it good for furniture?
Yes. Rubberwood (Hevea brasiliensis) is a dense, close-grained hardwood with a Janka hardness around 960 lbf — comparable to teak and harder than many pines. It machines cleanly, holds joinery and screws well, and takes stain and lacquer evenly, which makes it an excellent, cost-advantaged choice for dining tables, chairs, cabinets and framing components.
Is rubberwood durable and how long does it last?
Rubberwood is strong and stable indoors when it is properly kiln-dried and preservative-treated against fungi and borers, as all of our export rubberwood is. It is an interior timber — not naturally weather- or rot-resistant — so it is specified for indoor furniture rather than outdoor use. Treated and finished, rubberwood furniture gives many years of reliable service in homes, offices and hospitality settings.
Is rubberwood eco-friendly and sustainable?
Very. Rubberwood is harvested from plantation trees only after they end their ~25–30 year latex-producing life, so the timber is a by-product of an existing crop rather than a reason to clear forest. That makes it an inherently plantation-sourced, deforestation-free wood. We supply it with FSC chain-of-custody on request and EUDR-ready geolocation and due-diligence documentation.
What colour is rubberwood and can it be stained to look like other woods?
Raw rubberwood is a pale, creamy blonde with a subtle, mostly straight grain. That light base is a finishing advantage — it accepts stains and tints predictably, so it can be finished natural, whitewashed, or stained to read as walnut, oak or a warm teak tone. We finish it with CARB / TSCA-compliant, low-emission coatings.
How do you care for rubberwood furniture?
Keep it indoors and out of direct sun and damp. Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately; use coasters and mats under hot or wet items; and dust regularly. Avoid soaking, harsh solvents and prolonged humidity. A periodic wax or furniture polish keeps the finish even. Cared for this way, rubberwood stays flat and sound for years.
